Let it cool well between shots. Also the MOA guarantee is for 3 round groups.
 
We have yet to shoot the 270, we are taking it to the range tomorrow. I too have been a little disappointed with the moa guarantee on my 243. It's definitely not sub moa. I have tried 3 different factory ammo all 100gr. I have 3 different types to try tomorrow. I'm also going to try different action screw torques. My 223 vanguard is shooting sub moa. My buddies 243 S2 is also not shooting moa. I've been shooting 3 shots then letting it cool.federal blue box is grouping better than the premium federal. I have 2 type of winchester and a box of Hornady sst for tomorrow.

My flamer .243 (those are S1 stocks BTW) is better then MOA with my handloads. I don't shoot factory ammo in anything. What you need to look for is good even contact on the very end of the forearm under the barrel. They use a pressure point there rather then free float. If the molding is rough or uneven that can affect groups. You can tweek it temporary with electrical tape just to see if it helps, build it up with 3-4 layers. If it does then bed that section permanently.
Now the Howa rifles come free floated in Hogue stocks, and I hate to say it but my 2 Howas shoot better then my 2 Vanguards...they are .223 and 6.5x55.
My latest Vanguard was an S2 stock, and the front molding was completely uneven under the barrel. I'm in the process of free floating it too. The S2 stocks are very solid and free floating shouldn't cause any issues.
 
I gave up on factory ammo and started re-loading after I had one box of silvertips shoot sub-moa then the next box all shoot +- 1.5". I just bedded and free floated my vanguard and first range test looks promising 5/6 loads sub-moa 2 bullet types, 3 groups 1 grain increase load ladders. Before bedding on the left after on the right.
