Hey guys I have a request to make if someone in the edmonton area can help me out. My girlfriend wants to buy her first deer rifle and she has stumbled upon a deal on a handi rifle that I think is pretty good. Just a plain Jane wood handi rifle but she has no idea if it's going to fit her or not, she has a wierd arm length and I was wondering if someone could let her hold one and get a feel to see if she likes it. I don't want her to buy it and hate it and not want to use it or give up on guns in general after the first try. I tried finding somewhere in edmonton that had this gun in stock and that turned up nothing! So If someone is able to help me out I would be forever grateful! And my girlfriend would be too!

If the price is right just buy it and try it out. If she doesn't like it you can easily sell it on the EE, specially if it is a common cartridge. IIRC they don't make Handi Rifles any more but I could be wrong. You can also easily shorten or lengthen the stock to fit her.
Unfortunately H&R no longer makes the Handi rifles. They stopped production a year ago.
For a while there you might occasionally see a new one left at a dealer but most of those are gone now so you need to track then down on the used market.
They show up from time to time on the EE.
