If you have an Hatsan Escort MP pump or MP-A semi-auto what do you think of it? My local CDN Tire just filled a showcase with various Hatsan models. I handled a few and was quite impressed with what you get for the price.

They're great shotguns for the money. CT on Leila has carried Hatsan for a while, but have recently received a new shipment including the mag fed Raider semi auto.

I have the MPA with the "Canada Legal" mag tube extension from S&J Hardware, replacement ButtStock from Corwin-Arms, bought the gun from Kelly's Sporting Goods when they were on sale for $350. The paint job is pure Home Depot Rattle Can.

It was finicky at first - in fact, the gas system had been assembled in the wrong order with the O Rings in the wrong place. Even there, it would cycle slugs and buck. Once I figured out what was wrong with it, and got the O Rings in the right order, it cycles everything. Runs like a champ. Got thrown in the dirt repeatedly at a couple of 3-gun shoots, and kept on chugging.

I ordered two Hatsan Escort MPA's from a site sponsor, one for me, and one for a friend. Received about a month ago, and landed with freight and taxes for $428.00. I have only put about 200 rounds through mine, but it has run flawlessly, and is very easy to strip and clean. My buddy has put over 400 rounds through his, and has not stripped or cleaned, and it has also run flawlessly, not one hiccup for either gun. Possibly the best gun value I have ever experienced so far.

A buddy bought one (MP-A) and had horrible luck. I bought one and mine works great. It's almost comical to see the bulk pack cheapo shells eject....they fly about three feet away, if that. Somewhat hard on the fingers reloading the tube.

I have the semi. It had cycling issues for about the first 100 rounds, but runs fine now.

Good value for the $$ in my opinion.

I have read there is the odd lemon out there though.

Are the front sights on the semi all polymer or metal with a fiber optic bead?

Metal.

I had the same MP as TVPP. The sites were not accurate for slugs. Smooth gun otherwise. Just didn't like the stock set so sold it. Love my other Hatsans though.

I was very happy with my MPA up until the bolt handle blew apart. Day one I cleaned it and polished the mag tube. So far, it has cycled everything. Even light load #7.5 challengers.

My rear ghost ring is adjustable, so I'll probably dial them in for 50 yds with the slugs then call it good.

The rear sight is a simple dual dot not ghost ring and it drifts for windage too while the front fibre optic has an elevation screw. I could never get them to play well together. I also didn't like the two dot rear site.

Mine is metal with a plastic red bead. The gun has functioned well so far. But i've only got about 100 shells through it so far. All cheap target loads. A couple of times I had a shell fail to properly eject though
