walmart 22lr ammo in Midland, ON

Near Barrie, ON and close to Wasaga Beach/Midland
Stopped at the walmart to see if they had any 22lr in stock since they are normally cheaper, and they did not disappoint. I picked up 2 boxes of rem 525 golden bullets (unsure if they are any good or not still) for $32.97 a box. Left the other 2boxes behind.

Happend to be killing time and stopped at crappy tire, and seen the same ammo for $54ish/box.

So if anyone in the area is searching for less expensive 22lr, there is still 2 boxes left after my stock pile needs were filled :)
 
wish i could find that price. just saw thunderbolt ammo in orangeville tsc store for 45$. so ya next time i see decent ammo at decent current price i am buying it

Why aren't you emptying the shelf at that price? Just before X-Mas CT in Cold Lake had Winchester M-22 1000 rd bricks for $68 and Remington 1400 rd Bucket of Bullets for $99. I bought the last bucket they had and 12 of the Winchester packs. Had I had more $$ I'd have bought all 68 packs!!
 
Aren't golden bullets the cheapest/dirtiest/least liked 22LR ammo one can buy ? I was told that's one of a few types you stay away from.

Is American eagle just as bad ?

Can't speak about the golden bullets - haven't tried them yet.

As to the American Eagle, I have only tried the hollow point. In my Marlin 795 rifle and my TT Olympia pistols they were excellent. With about 100 rounds through each - zero failure to feed/failure to fire/failure to eject, not especially dirty and 2nd best accuracy of the 8 or so brands of ammo I tried (significantly better than Mini Mags, and far, far, far better than Federal Champion).

The only Win ammo I tried was the Super X (out of a fancy wood box), which was about middle-of-the-pack for accuracy but otherwise reliable.

I would gladly buy the AE any time I could. As I said, I finally got a box of the golden bullets but haven't had a chance to test them on the bench yet - I don't have my own rifle or pistol vise so have to arrange to meet people who DO have vices (especially that fit my Olympia pistols).

Oh, and essentially no 22lr at my local Wallyworld. They are out for many months at a time, then get maybe a couple of boxes, which sell out immediately and are again out for many months. Useless.
 
Kingston had 2 boxes of the golden stuff, and got one, probably thats all they will have for a while again

It comes in 38 gr copper-plated hollow-points in 40 round boxes, or 40 gr lead round nose in 50 round boxes, or bricks of either. I also come across the copper-plated stuff more often than the lead solids, but it's out there.
 
Golden bullets at my local WM are $49 a box of 525, or a bucket of 1400 for $98.
On a related note they were clearing out a sku of win wildcats. Got 2 bricks , priced at $6.97. Yes you read that right brick of 500 fir $6.97
