north eastern arm Ar15

^Phat Eagle has summarized it nicely. I have an early gen I picked up off the EE and not a word of a lie I oiled the aftermarket BCG racked it a few times and the forward assist sheared off and flew across the room. I sent an email to NEA and they replaced it no questions asked.

I have enough confidence in their CS that I'll be buying a new one in due time.

What appeals to me about NEA rifles is the ARC+ treatment on barrel and internal parts (bolt, carrier etc..), barrel profile and polygonal rifling. I would be interested in competing options with these features, but I haven't found any.

You could do what I'm doing, buy a stripped lower and put it together as you find good deals on parts. I already got a nice deal on a Colt upper and I'm waiting on an EMT so I can scoop another part (best deal so far If I get it...get up guy from Sask!). If your going to wait you may as well have your "Rifle" (lower) in your safe now rather than later. Buying gently (or not at all) used is just as good as new for me.

I know those are top of the line but what makes you say don't bother with NEA?

As most have said, the Gen 2 NEAs are probably fine. The warranty is suppose to be good.
The issue is if you ever sell the gun, you would take a hit or you will have difficulty selling it in a crowded AR market where everyone is looking for used DDs, CCs at basically new NEA+ a few dollars price tags.
The stigma of the Gen 1 guns will plague NEA for a while unfortunately.
Most AR guys just don't want to chance their $ on this company.

I have watched with my own eyes the issues with the gen 1s. Every one says g2s are probably fine or should be ok.... those are not words that inspire confidence

I'll sell you a car and the seat belt should function properly.

Why spend your money on something that COULD have serious issues? When there are at least 5 other solid products at the same price point with proven track records.

At the end of the day it's your money and your body parts at risk if a catastrophic failure occurred.

I personally don't gamble with my money or health.
