My first black rifle arrived today; a like-new T97 (Thank you random dude on EE!). Also picked up the shipment with a screw-on top rail, Bushnell First Strike reflex sight, 90° charging handle, and extended/lever mag release (Thank you HiCal!) The crate of 5.56 arrived on Friday and I've been itching all weekend (Thank you ammosupply.ca!)

Extra thank yous to HiCal and ammosupply.ca for dealing with EMT shenanigans on both their orders, even though in both cases it was caused by me. HiCal shipped the morning after the EMT went through, and ammosupply.ca shipped, and arrived, earlier than expected. I will continue to throw money at both places as needed :p

I'll post pictures and a noob range report as reasonable; most likely later this evening.

I love my t97. For ####es & giggles it's my favourite and most of my friends love it too. Put a red dot on it and hit gongs at 60 yards. And all this for under a K make it even more fun.

i got my T97 FTU last week and i love it.
love how the bullpup balances in the hand it's compact and easy to point. only gripe i have about it is the magwell feels a bit rough. neither the factory mag or the LAR mag drops free.

Report 1

Report is late; work happened.

I can sum up Day 1 in one word: Loctite.
Gun shoots fine, and is certainly capable of out-shooting me. I only encountered two problems. One, it throws brass everywhere. At one point I watched the dog dodge an ejected case Matrix style. She eventually moved. Two, the aftermarket things I attempted to attach fell off at random. Hence my picking up a tube of blue Loctite today. I'll post another report after I get a chance to properly sight it in (waiting on family with all the sighting toys to return from vacation).

On with the pictures!

How it arrived.

Purdy...

Dog was not helpful. Though later she did inadvertently assist in locating some of the far-flying brass by sitting on it with a funny look on her face. It was probably still warm... :p

No proper target pictures until it's properly sighted in. Hopefully this week; family member is getting an emergency appendectomy, which has put a slight damper on things
