The .270 Win club, are you in?

The 270-08AI is the king of that class, Mine sends a 147gn at 2900fps. and accuracy is so phenomenal it would sound like BS so I wont tell:)

I have seriously thought about doing the AI thing with it, but like your rifle its so silly accurate I'm not going to touch it.
And like yours the groups are so small nobody would believe.
On one range trip I handed the rifle to a complete stranger and his measured group was 0.210 " for three rounds ..

Buddy gave me this one earlier this year with 240 rounds of Federal ammo loaded with 130 gr. Speer Grand Slam bullets. 1957 HVA 4100 lightweight.

100 metres

Not really sure why, but the 270Win has never held enough fascination for me to go buy a rifle so chambered. I did have a Remington Jam-o-matic that was given to me some years back, but it had an 18" barrel, was deafening to shoot, and quickly found a new home.

Old gal had me gather me stuff on Sunday and up the hill I went.
Took the old 336 in 35Rem and hung a few targets out fifty yards.
Not a great distance by any means, but just hung the scope and gear back on it.
Bore sighted it in and placed these three rounds at this distance.

Yes...........three rounds.

As I already own a 7mmRM that covers every base that the 270 ever would and there are too many other rifles/chamberings I already want I probably won't own one for some time, if ever. Nothing against a great cartridge, just not a practical choice for me with what I already have and what I still want to buy.

I acquired one in the last 12 months. Sako 75 AII (I think?). My first, despite alot of Uncles having them. You look at the ballistics, and it is an awesome round! I have all the belted Mags, from .264 and up, and it is impressive. My rifle itself was rode hard and put away wet. A shame, but cheap.

If its a 75 in .270 win, should be a IV action.

Push feed M70 .270 Lightweight WinCam stock sits in the safe.
Not a great picture.

I didn't realize there was a Club. ;) I joined the ranks earlier this year, with a Steyr ProHunter .270. Here it was on its maiden voyage.

My first rifle in 1981 was a Ruger tang safety M77 in .270, the older gent at the Langley Gun Shop said it got the job done on anything with antlers, ammo was everywhere, and it had a bit less kick for a young lad than the '06, so I'd enjoy practicing more. With a trigger job and a good scope it's still my deer rifle, and I shot plenty of deer, moose, and elk over the past 35 years with it. These days, as I just use it for deer, I shoot 140 grain Accubonds out of it for their ballistics...but it seems to be deadliest, (in terms of bang-flop), with the old 150 grain Nosler Partitions.

I took my first deer with a pre-64 Model 70 Winchester in .270 Win. Now I shoot .270 hand loads with my Browning X-Bolt. I own other calibres but .270 is my true love.
