Burris speed bead on an 870 express

Hey guys

I just ordered a speed bead to try out on my 870 express. Wondering if anyone has used one before? Do you co-witness the front bead or what range do you sight in for?

Looking at using it for trap as well as general pest control and possibly hunting.

Figured this worked better here then the optic forum but feel free to move it if you feel otherwise.

I have seen several different types of optics used for trap and skeet, and all were miserable failures. If you are concentrating on anything but the actual target, you will not shoot to your potential.
 
Can I ask were you got your mount.i like the speak bead and have been thinking about putting one on my girls turkey gun.
 
The "Black and Green Shotguns" section of the forum is probably a better place ask about this.

Lots of guys who hang out there use red-dot scopes on their shotguns.

Or in the shotgun section...
A guy at the Vancouver Gun club has a Zeiss 4X on his 1100 trap.
Between his medical condition and his pension for scoped 1100's he does pretty dam good.
I think he does it more for pshyci than anything else, but he sure runs the clays out.

Should there be no vision issues then I would strongly recommend getting your child become used to just a plain bead on that shotgun. Consequently, any transition to clay and/or wingshooting will be simpler for her down the road.

We are talking about turkey hunting and deer hunting with shotguns.not wing shooting. She has a auto loader for wing hooting. .We use scopes now.but I am looking for something smaller and lighter fir her .Dutch
 
Went to the range yesterday i had set up the sight to co witness the front bead and it was shooting dead on at 30 yards. Was able to shoot both eyes open and quick shots.

I can't wait to try trap with it

Let us know how many clean rounds you shoot with it. I have never seen anyone shoot a clean round of trap or skeet with an optic sight .
