Looking so see if someone of you guys will share your tavor or t97 grouping pics at 100 yards or farther! Trying to make a decision if I should buy one, Accuracy is my main goal and as I see some guys claiming 1 inch groups and some 4 inch I would like to see some at work!

I played with one (tavor ) in store and I do like the feel, but I seen some guys shoot them locally with a co witness set up and grouping was disappointing and had over a 4 inch group at 100.

Mine was at best 2moa with Factory PMC 62gr and Ruag 63 gr. I did get the Timney trigger afterwards and shot a bout the same or slightly tighter.

T97 shot about 2.5moa at best, more like 3

Not trying for accuracy, the was just resting on a so I could re zero me Eotech. Wasn't shooting slow deliberate shots waiting for optimal conditions, but it wasn't rapid fire either. Specs were an Eotech xps2 with a 3x magnifier, shooting bulk Remington umc 55gr .223 ammo.

100m 10 shots

50m 5 shots, adjust sights then 5 more

I don't think this is a true representation of its accuracy potential, but it gives you an idea of average don't think about it just shoot accuracy.

I realize its anecdotal, but that's what we got. My Type 97 has been excellently accurate for me, so maybe i got lucky.

That's beyond lucky.
I couldn't shoot that with my bedded Rem700 AAC using match ammo and a 3-9 Scope (it will do about 1/2 MOA from prone, supported and taking a lot of time and warm up shots to get into the groove) but anyhow....

My T97 was around 4-5 MOA using the irons. Same regardless of Norc 55gr, Federal 62gr, surplus green tip FMJ M855 etc etc I think I tried about 5 types of ammo. All the same results. I had a thread/review of it actually.
For perspective, I can put 3 rounds in a 3" group roughly (sometimes a little less) using my old 1976 Model 94 and the buckhorn stock irons at 100 meters using wal mart Federal .30-30 So it's not my shooting ability.

I can say that the two Tavors I shot (one with irons and one with a red dot of some sort) shot the same ie ~4-5 MOA gun when I shot them.
Both those rifles are not designed to be accurate. They are bullet hoses designed for effective combat accuracy under fast rates of fire in a compact package within 150 meters. They do this well. But accurate rifles in stock config they sure as hell are not.
I personally think there is a lot of projection on these two rifles from owners who want it to be a lot more. I did when I owned my T97 but I just accepted it and sold it as I'm not into those types of guns. Don't regret it.

Tavor 100 yards. First time trying to post pics.
