.....by my daughter. Yeah, I know it's not a black or green rifle, it's better! And where do I post it?? She has been working at the Newcap TV station in Lloydminster AB for a while now, doing reporting and recently moved in to weekend anchor slot as well. She was doing a story on the recent exercises by the Mech group in CFB Wainright, and had a blast riding around in the new Leopard tank, the LAV, and then they gave her a Karl Gustov to pose with. Officially, she has handled a much bigger launcher than I've ever got my mitts on. Strangely enough, they wouldn't let her throw it in the trunk of her car for me.

As a side note, I told her to tell her work associate there to keep his digit off the trigger next time, particularly with the muzzle in the general direction of the camera person. Some people's children.....

Here is a link to her story, if any one is interested in watching....it is under April 22/2016, starting around the 7:06 mark. Pretty cool footage of the new updated Leopard tank on there, she said they took her cross country at about 40 mph over ditches and all kinds of stuff, scared her to death but she said it drove so smooth.....

Good thing there's no mag in that hipsters rifle...

Sweet that your daughter got to play with a Goose. Looks like a lot of fun.

Oh man I didn't realize that was a guy...I thought it was your daughters *partner*...I'll blame it on my iPhone.

Regardless, that's really cool. I'd love to have that kind of opportunity!! Looks like a blast!!

Ha! I guess I should have worded that a lot differently, never crossed my mind that could be interpreted that way.....so yeah, not a *partner* like that haha, I think he was the camera man or sound man for the report, he works with her. She will get a good laugh that someone could possibly think the 'hipster' would be her partner though...

Your daughter has a lot more control than I would have, lol can you say Accidental Discharge!!! Better to ask forgiveness than permission.

Forgot to add anyone else notice they didn't trust the hipster with a mag in the magwell(for good reason) but the unattended gun learning against the wall in the tank has one..... LOL

Yup, first thing I saw, and knew everyone else would see is the hipster with the non-existent gun safety technique....but not every kid is raised with guns around (or ever even handled one). My kids get handed a firearm, and the muzzle is pointed in a safe direction, finger off the trigger, inspect the chamber/mag for live rounds, then appreciate the beauty of it! Anyway....enough about me being a great dad!

A couple more of her, at CFB Cold Lake. She was doing a story on the new paint job on a commerative CF-18....and got to check out the CT-114 Tutor. The 'One step closer' part in that picture, is because there is a good possibility that they are going to take her for a spin in the CF-18 yet. I'm pure green jelly on that one! Edit *And yes, she sure does get her looks from her Mom, absolutely. It was a major effort to trick my wife into marrying me!*

Cool beans, is she a shooter? She would make a great spokes woman for the fun of shooting guns.

I taught all my kids to shoot, including archery (she won bronze at the 3D outdoor Nationals in 2006 as a cub), shotgun, rifle, pistol. Having said that, going to school to get her journalism diploma, I believe she became defiled by liberal thinking on a number of topics (being PC is imperative in her industry after all), and decided that only the military should have firearms to protect us (not even police, and certainly not civvies)....but she is conflicted, because they grew up eating wild game I harvested, so hunting is ok. I figure a few more years down the road, and she will come back around to a way of thinking that isn't insane, I've seen it happen before. It is a touchy subject around our house sometimes, as you may imagine, as I have been a strong advocate for the shooting sports for over 3 decades. To put it in perspective though, as a parent, I just think of myself having the discussion with my mother who is also strongly anti-gun, and her comment 'how did you become like THIS? I didn't raise you this way'. And I told her that I had a good mind, and logic and critical thinking prevailed over her fears of inanimate objects and strange politics. My mom and I don't talk much in general the last 25 or 30 years....anyway, without rambling, I try not to battle with my girl about it, and hopefully she will respect my views while I try not trash her because of her illogical ones! I would have loved to post that she loved shooting and guns, but I don't lie to look better. Having said that, she has no fear of them, and still knows how to handle them safely, and on occasion will still come and shoot pistol with me. Weird, huh?

Not weird at all, let her know we accept her views and hope that she accepts ours. I wouldn't try to change her and only ask the same in return. Peace
