Found this on CBC this morning. Any of you OT fellows might want to check it out.

Downtown Toronto does not have 400 lb bears walking down the sidewalk, at the time elementary kids get out of school to walk home.

SJWers change their tunes when a bear destroys their apple tree or knocks down their fence. Some of those people should be dropped off in the bush after being showered with the juice from a sardine can.

My big issue is the fact these people call themselves environmentalists, but their #####ing about the ethics of hunting - which last time i checked is not their area of expertise.

I don't get your dig at climate change though, are you one is those people with their head buried in the sand who denies a very obvious global problem?
 
You don't shut down a hunt - listen to the problem effects all over the Province- open it back up after a large duration and not see that the fighting groups did nothing to help salve the problem they started in the first place and then shut it down. There is no way the Government is going to change direction that fast.
 
I live two blocks from downtown Sudbury ..... My backyard is fenced in and back against a creek that runs through downtown ... Two blocks from down town I tell you and I have bears walking along the creek bank... And also trying to get to my plum trees... Apple trees.... Cherry trees... Raspberry patch .....There is a SCHOOL 70 meters from me and yes it's a danger to the kids there .....
We need to cull the population on bears
 
I'm about a block from Bell Park in Sudbury. Last summer, I had bears in the yard three times that I know about, and I'm sure a few times that I don't know about

Bear gets a ride in a Ford.

My thought is always.....we pay for licenses and fees to hunt Big Game. Who charges us, the government; so it follows that if they are charging us money, the animals must belong to them.

Call the CO, your animal is here now, i calmed him down. He ruined my composter, knocked down my fence, and tore a big branch off the apple tree/probably killing it. So when you come to get it, bring your cheque book. Might result in charges, when you go in front of a judge; here is my bill for damages, i demand the crown fence their animals>>>>.leaving dangerous animals run around. Would you win....probably not....but you might not lose and would the crown want to go down this route>>>>>liability for crop damage, vehicle collisions....its a pandora's box.
 
Actually NWS.....under the game act no Gov't is responsible for damage caused by INDIGENOUS species. They have covered their ass very well in this respect and you may not bring suit against them. Not only would you not win, you would never even get before a Magistrate. However in the Yukon the Gov't was taught a lesson of law about the wood bison they imported there and paid out damages in several suits. It was ruled that because they purchased these animals and then imported them and set them free to sleep on our highways, that they were in fact the owners of them and were liable for any damage these animals caused. Indigenous game on the other hand the Gov't only manage and are not responsible for damages.........
I put it to the CO here (during the CORE course it was mandatory I take) that I would be within my rights to terminate any bear that was ripping the siding off my walk in cooler house (which has happened).........believe it or not he said "NO".........I must call them and they would come and deal with it. I then reminded him of Canada's 3 tier law structure which says "at no time does a lower tier supersede a higher one" He of course was stumped because they are not taught the real law either. Their motto is "When in doubt charge the individual and let him pay large sums of money to prove he was right in the first place" I informed him that I owned a backhoe and not to be expecting calls any time soon.........The class got a chuckle from this.......

Fanatics of any persuasion follow their course of action with no regard for the facts. They hate hunters, consider us an unevolved portion of the human race. The facts support the bear season in Ontario. Irrefutable. These clowns continue on despite the very obvious facts supporting a bear season that have presented themselves since the season was closed ( forgot how long ago that was offhand). What was the number of problem bears destroyed in Ontario last year or so? Does not matter to these clowns. The economic impact to Northern Ontario was immediate and far reaching but the anti's felt no obligation to address this very obvious outcome of their actions. Like all fanatics their minds are closed.
 
In other news today, black bear attacks on people and black bears causing a nuisance in Ontario.. There seems to be a growing number of these type of files. The liberal party of Canada seems unsure why this has been happening.
