After doing my homework, i came to a conclusion that for bench shooting, its always better to use sandbags instead of bi-pods or bench rests for recoiling reasons. anyways i am planning to buy a good reviewed cheap caldwell sand bag set https://www.amazon.ca/Caldwell-DeadShot-Boxed-Front-Combo-Unfilled/dp/B000PW8KSM/ref=sr_1_sc_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1462319901&sr=8-2-spell&keywords=cadwell+shooting

my question is, i am not sure which filling would perform the best: rice, sand, cubcorn, beeds..etc i know that sand is heavy and rice too but my concern is more into stability. have anyone tried more than one filling to share his/her experience with me?

I have a set and filled mine with wheat, it was free and coarse enough not to leak out plus gives them a good weight.

Empty bags are $26, you can buy a filled set for $45 so whatever you choose anything over $19 is not really worth it?

yes exactly, eventhough i feel that getting an empty bag with filling over 45 is still better than prefilled ones. because you have the option to choose what suites you. not all prefilled bags are filled with what meets your needs

Where are you getting the recycled plastic beads from?
Any idea cost per lb, say 1 to 5 lbs.

Currently used bean bag filler. 10+ bucks a pound.
Use a fill that is not affected by water/moisture.

We use recycled plastic beads in all of our bags and have never had an issue.

Michaels, the arts and crafts store probably has something you could use for fill. You could also use bb's or steel shot.

I filled my bags with fine sand and it was a mistake. The sand perpetually leaks out through the stitching - getting sand on the bench, onto my empties and hands and guns and all. I'd have to rip stitching to get it all out.

Great if you can suggest a better route that sells to the public in non bulk sizes, say 5lbs.

As I said earlier 3mm bean bag fillings cost me 10+ bucks a pound. A lb doesn't fill much.

Which range are you, POCO, Mission, Abby?
Time to move to MR :)

Very expensive going this route........Ask me how I know. ;)

Our supplier does not sell to the public.

Plus you have to buy bulk from them, as in hundreds of pounds.

so that's what the Calwell fills with, corn cob. Never get it wet. Would be worth paying extra for plastic fill but no thanks to corn cob.

Have that Walmart corn cob for the vib brass cleaner and for filling one of my bag. Works well when dry.
great idea, am not sure what would be the cost for the gravel though.
as per calwell bags, the filled ones are filled with cob corn https://www.amazon.ca/Calwell-93933...=UTF8&qid=1462338311&sr=8-2&keywords=caldwell. i was thinking to save the airsoft cost which i think will be around 20$ and instead buy the cob corn from wallmart http://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/hartz-corn-cob-bedding/6000001832757 . I am not sure how much i need.

Back when I was searching for fill I found these and they ship to Canada but as you can guess a 25lb box is pricy to ship, they have 3 weights of pellets too, these are the heavy.
