I did just buy a 375 H&H as well, although the I have yet to determine exactly why. But that has never stopped me before.

No disrespect was intended on the 9.3X57. It is indeed a capable cartridge. The swedes invented the potato term..

Why did you get a .375 H&H, well if it is same reason as me - just because you can... I just love the sound of it, classic. I almost feel like getting me a tweed suit, knickers and long socks, grow a handlebar moustache, start smoking a pipe and top it off with a safari "helmet" :)

Whoops! That's what I get for not reading all the pages.
Now that I have read them all, I have come to the conclusion that the OP has too many guns. Fortunately for him I do not and thus graciously extend an offer to house any that he wishes be rid of.

Kevan........Clarity is getting difficult for me to gauge these days but the low light capabilities are absolutely unparalleled, and yes I do believe it is based on a 30mm tube. As you know I have many, many Leupolds and like them without reservation, but the Zeiss Victory series is a definite step up. I don't believe the Conquest to be and the Terra is inferior in my opinion, but the Victory and my old Diavari are certainly high end optics which can only truly be appreciated in vey low light conditions. All scopes are relatively equal in good light as optics go (barring the absolute junk of course) and low, low light is where the truly high end ones start to shine (pardon the pun), without huge objective bells and the like.
I personally like smallish scopes for hunting rifles and have no use for anything with long tubes and huge objective lenses and turrets that stick out 6" from the scope tube. The Zeiss, although relatively heavy are a very compact scope, in their relative magnifications, in their hunting series of scopes.

I am actually a big fan of the Terras at their price point..... Solid reliable scopes..... But I will concede that the victory and diavara are the stuff of dreams......

And Kevan...... Best wishes and thoughts..... A good friend of mine just beat this and you can too......

I would agree with the vx3 for sure...... As to the vx2, they are nice scopes but I consider them equal to the Terras......

Put it this way..... With the RSM in mind, I consider it a "flagship" rifle for me..... And I am struggling to put a Terra on it and would have the same struggle with a VX-2.......

As much as I am not a fan of gizmos and gadgets afield, I am actually considering the 1.5-4x in a VXR...... But have yet to get some actual in person glass time with one...... Research leads me to believe vx3 quality glass with the firedot option......

The jury is still out, and thankfully the RSM has awesome irons....... In fact, if I can print a 6 inch group at 300 reliably with them it won't get scoped at all...... But admittedly, I would be surprised if I can achieve that no matter how good those irons are.....

I'm not so cocerned about deluxe. More concerned if it can handle the recoil. A sweet local deal came up. 2-7X33. First Leupold, most scopes sold locally is Bushnell...
 
The 24's (or 20) just look so "Right" on these classics. Beautiful rifles.

What level of leupold?...... If it's a VX-2, it will get the job done handily...... In fact, I wager the Zeiss Terra woukd get the job done for me as well.........

Even the VX-1 might get the job done too....... Hell, a bushnell banner may do ok as well....... But by buying better, you are buying insurance...... You know

Have Banner, Trophy, Vortex Diamondback, just ready to try something else. It is indeed a Leupold VX 2.

There are a few Zeiss around, all 40MM+. Want to try a smaller scope as I rarely need the magnification. I was even thinking a fixed scope. If I change my mind after I have a Win70 waiting for a scope. :)

Just found out that A Terra is 150 more (cabelas) than the deal on the VX2.
 
Iron sights and 300 yards are not exactly best friends Brad. Shorten your distance, achieve those results and go hunting.

You might find your NW coast moose before you find a 300 yard line of sight.

We all have our tastes bud..... And I am no optics snob.....

Just my story, and yours may be different...... But vortex is a no go for me now...... I had a 4-12 diamondback on my .223 and it was epic....... But, after that, I had scopes fail on every other rifle I own......

I agree..... It's more about the hunt I am paying for and what "may happen"....... But certainly open to feedback...... My MO is that I always want it within stabbing distance..... Lol.... New to me....
