What is the law on shotgun mag capacity ?
I know you have to have the gun plugged to just two rounds for hunting.
what about when you are shooting clays or three gun ?

Thanks

If it's a semi it's 5 rounds.

If it's a pump, lever or bolt there is no limit.

Same rules as a rifle for "other than hunting".

Just like laws for handguns and rifles, if the shotgun is a semi it is limited to 5 rounds of the maximum shell size listed on the receiver - so for a 3" chamber, this often means 6 (or occasionally even 7) rounds of 2 3/4" shells in the tube legally. As you indicated, really only relevent for 3 gun or fun shooting as hunting laws overrule the capacity limits when out for that purpose.

Pump/lever as already stated, no limits (again, unless hunting)

A note of caution: Some jurisdictions (read: Morontario) enforce the "waterfowl" mag limit of 2+1 for all wilderness carry that could be construed as "hunting".

So yes, you can sport a Lee Enfield with 10 in the mag, but you can only have 3 up in a shotty for all hunting activity.

I was trying to figure out why I saw an 8 shot (2 3/4") extension for a Benelli SBE II. That would explain it though. 7 - 2 3/4" shells would be about the same length as 5-3.5" Thank you good sir.

Recommend this stays on the down low for a little longer. Don't draw attention.

I don't plan on flaunting. .. but might as well enjoy while we can. Tomorrow they might change everything.

Plus the more people that are aware the better. .. I would hate to challenge an officer on the legality of it out in the field. .. would rather he already knew about it.
