Non corrosive 7.62x39 ?

non corrosive ammo in 7.62x39mm is a myth .... to make you spend more and shoot less ....
I've bought the non corrosive that I have been discussing for $0.21 per round. I've found that this compares favorably to some places that sell corrosive. I've shot hundreds of these rounds since I got ###y Ms. CZ858 back in December. I've never felt limited in shooting out my heart's content. Very different to the feeling I have when shooting my 300 Weatherby Magnum.

On another matter, it just occurred to me that a reason why Lever Arms announces this as 1980s production might be because they grabbed a case marked 61 08 and read it upside down as production plant #19 production year 1980 (19 80).

Hmm, $325 for 1500rds at lever. I'm getting down to my last crate of x39, might be worth it to see if it's actually non corrosive. Seeing as Tradex has 1400rds of RUS x39 for $295. $30 is moot if it really isn't non corrosive. Plus I can drop in on the way to work most days.

Because it is 2016... It is our choice if we want to shoot Non corrosive and we don't have to justify it's use to you, but if you must know I live on the Wet West Coast where it is high humidity and rains all the time. Even SKS's that are cleaned to perfection still have problems here with rusting. So I shoot Non corrosive and don't have to worry. I will await the Canada Ammo new production stuff they will be getting in soon (and is supposed to be very cost effective) to restock my ammo reserve.

Yeah I live on the west coast too. never had a problem

Wet coast pissing contest.

When NC could be had last year for 20c a shoot why shot corrosive esp. those of us with x39 XCRs.
Victoria doesn't get anywhere near the rain Kitimat and Rupert does. Average of 2400mm of rain a year in Kitimat, 2470mm for Rupert. 705mm for Victoria per year. Two different worlds...

Once Canada Ammo gets the new production stuff in, they are saying the price will be $250-350 per case so still quite good for todays prices. I will have no problems continuing to shoot NC

I want a case of NC so I can enjoy not going through a major clean this Fall when I go moose hunting. No - not because I am going to try x39 on a moose, but I want to walk and stalk with my CZ 58 for small game. Reckon within 50 yards I can head shot a rabbit. Grouse might be a bit more of challenge.

Pretty much my kind of philosophy.... own non corrosive for short shooting sessions..... and corrosive for days when you just want to blast away.

i intended to drill my moose last fall with my CZ527 carbine and Barnes x bullets but when it strolled out I was holding my .300 H+H so down it went.......Harold

Some relish in the experience of touching, cleaning and babying their guns. So the fact that shooting corrosive require more gun hugging time is not an issue, almost subconsciously enjoyable.

Others like shooting but have other things they rather (or have to) run to after shooting, so they appreciate not having to spend an extra minute cleaning their guns.

Two different perspective, ergo this frequent topic.
