Hello there!

I am having some serious trouble finding the right fore-end for the benelli m4. Any help our points in the right direction would be much appreciated!

What I have found:

Surefire M80:
Pro:
want really bad
Con:
Discontinued, not available in canada

Fab Defense poly:
Pro
available, cheap, available in canada
Con
It makes the gun ugly(to me)

B&T Metal quad rail:
Pro:
Available in canada
Con
Expensive, makes gun look ugly(to me)

Pro Mag Benelli M4 Forend:
Pro
Keeps nice cosmetics, low end of cost,
Con
Cannot find anywhere in canada

I'm mostly looking to mount a magpul AFG on the forend. The look of the gun is important so sometime like the surefire m80 or Promag forend would be ideal. Anyone know if/where the Promag forend is available in canada? TY

Kinda hard to find low profile ones. I cut the top off of the Fab Defense handguard and put some epoxy on the open sides to match the profile of the barrel. Turned out really good but a lot of effort. You can use an AFG2 but the size of the handguard makes using an AFG1 hard without trimming the sides... I don't use it anymore because I don't like a vertical or angled grip... It also weighs a lot more than the factory hand guards do.

A few places in Canada carry Promag stuff, Canada Ammo, SRFC and IRunGuns all do, so you would likely have to call/email them and see if they can import a set for you or bring it in in their next shipment, although I don't know if they sell the handguard alone (on Promag's site it looks like a full set for 922r compliance)... Promag isn't usually known for very high quality stuff, so I don't know how well it'll hold up...

Unfortunately not the best options... With that said, the B&T handguard looks a lot better in person than it does in any picture.

I bought the Fab and had to file to make it fit, ended up binning it and buying the B&T

Yeah this is an important note I forgot to mention. Where the barrel meets the receiver, there is a little "flange" around the barrel. The first versions of the M4 supposedly didn't have this, so FAB didn't include the recess, and thus the handguard has to be fit. (also some material around the pistons, if you torqued it with a vertical grip it could shift enough to rub on the pistons)

Like I said, turned out pretty nice but way too much work...

I installed the B & T and I, and every one, thinks it's just badass. It's a little heavy but it's one hell of a piece of hardware.

Thanks for the replies! The B&T seems interesting. If it looks better in person I'm considering it. It just looks so bulky. But since it's the only metal one it could be a really good addition.

Does anyone have input on the promag forend? I've heard mixed things about promag being cheap but I've never heard a customers perspective.

I haven't seen that exact one before in person, but for the most part Promag stuff is usually not the best quality....

Realistically, it's probably just 2 halves with a rail and some Tee Nuts, which is something you can do yourself if you're handy.

With that said, as I and others have stated; the B&T forend IS definitely nicer looking in person than the pictures show, and without a doubt; of the existing off-the-shelf options it's the best quality.

Apparently, SPURH is supposed to be working on a limited production run of Benelli M4 forends, BUT they're probably going to cost a VERY pretty penny.... like in the 5-600+ dollar range. They look great though!

Don't count on anything from Spurh unless it's an optic mount.

I am on the hunt for a SPUHR SL8 mag well adapter and no dealers can order one from SPUHR since SPUHR no longer has access to courier that handles "gun parts".

Is there a way to get a spare factory benelli m4 forend within canada? I'm considering machining my own but I'd like to do it on a fresh forend just in case I fumble it.

I wish surefire still made the m80 haha

Strike Industries Hayl. Looks like it doesn't have excess material and shouldn't add too much weight, but I haven't handled one.
