Howdy gunslingers,
Thanks to everyone that made it to CQBm2 today! 33 shooters enjoyed the beautiful weather and we got off the range before the rain hit. Hopefully many of you were already home before the downpour.
Training area was very busy today, with multiple mil and civ users on Langemark range. Good work on the parking and range set up and clean up.
Thanks to Sandy for stats, our score sheet runners, Dave and Jeff for AROing, and Tim for keeping everyone running safety and on time.
It was great to see our new shooters at the match, and for the spectators, remember the best way to get into CQB is to come shoot it.

An amazing weather day, especially when compared to the last match. Tim had his TimFu turned way up and kept the rain away, the ARO's did a tremendous job, Sandy did a fantastic job on stats, and the runners ran like H-E-Double-Hockey-Sticks.

Modified prone and a big muzzle brake gave me a custom FDE finish on my gun

Ditto all of the above. Had a great day all around. Can't wait 'til next month!

Ya was a blast today. The most fun I have had at a match in a long time. There all fun, but this one just seemed easy and smooth. Jim! Where are all of the pictures?

Great day! Perfect weather. We finished just in time to miss the rain. Thanks to the tireless crew who help keep these events rolling - Andrew, Dave, Jeff and Tim - special thanks to Sandy and the score runners who jumped in to help out. Congrats to the new shooters who joined us on the line today. It was great meeting you all.

My pistol fell out of the holster while I was shooting the modified prone. I was getting real good score with my pistol, too.

Other than that, a great day of shooting.

The stats runner(s) sped things up. Nice to have the results so soon after the shoot.

Awesome day today, guns all went bang, no major problems and best of all the motorhome got almost 7 smiles per gallon! lol, my norc 556 likes to keyhole I noticed today, I'm going to have to look that up and learn me sumthin, anyone else have that happen with their ammo?

Norc has been known to keyhole. I didn't think it would at such a small range though?

Great day at the range.
Thanks to all for organizing the event and keeping the match running smooth and safe.

Awsome day! Weather gods were on our side.
Fun to use all the new stuff I got over the winter though some worked better than others.
Had a great time as usual.
Thanks to everyone who volunteered.
Great pics.

Your Norc is 1-9 twist. 55 grain ammo is optimal. If you are shooting heavier grain it may cause unstable flight. Probable cause is throat erosion causing the bullet to skip and catch the land grooves on an angle. This happens to all rifles after 10+ thousands of rounds. Cheap surplus and steel case ammo will speed that process up to as little as 5000 rounds. Read this. http://www.luckygunner.com/labs/brass-vs-steel-cased-ammo/

Some of the Norc 5.56 has been reported as having undersized bullets. That isn't going to help. A 1:12 twist will stabilize 55 grainers. 1:9 shouldn't have any problems. Try different ammunition, that might solve the problem.

Been using my 14.5 Firstgen NEA with the norc ammo, I should check what twist it is, 1-9 seems to come to mind, but the storage safe is sooo far away right now, hahaha, I will read that article though, thanks!
