Stock reshaping

Try this here as it went nowhere on the sporting arms thread .have a 70's style sako A111 that I would like to thin out the forend of the stock looking for recommendation for someone to do this.as the Google says just go at it with a rasp I am sure someone would Say I'll do that ,no problem. A replacement stock is hard to find so do not want to mess it up. Sorry if not a gunsmithing issue but related
 
I did this with a Richardsons Micro fit.
The stock came huge like the tree it was cut from.
Took a bodymans air board sander to it.
Tapered the fore end on all three sides.
Came out nicer than I expected.
Then again, it was a winter project and I spent hours on it.
 
it is getting much harder to find a Gunsmith who makes/alters wooden stocks. I guess there is more money in plastic/fiberglass composite stocks, and it takes much less skill , it is really Auto body work.

I have a Richards Microfit as well I've started on. Thing was a huge chunk of wood.
I ran out of time so I just put on a Bell and Carlson for now. Once I slow down on other projects I'll
get back to trying to shape this stock.
