which CZ is the CZ for me? (post #61 for final pic!)

You will not be disappointed. I recently bought a 455 varmint .22 and mounted a Redfield 6 to 18 scope on it.
It's the most accurate of my .22s. I put 50 rounds through it yesterday it seems to be getting more accurate the more I shoot it.

Found my old thread about some ammo testing with my CZ 452. No match-grade ammo was harmed in this thread. :) As a plinker "extraordinaire" I have almost no interest in how primo ammo would shoot in this gun, because I know myself that well. I'd probably manage a very tight group or two...then never spend that much $ on ammo again. lol

Now...if I could only find a 452 Varmint in 17M2....I might stop looking at the EE 8 times a day. lol

The 452 has a threaded receiver into which the barrel is secured... the 455 is not threaded. some guys go to extra expense threading their receivers to secure their barrels -- some do not. Anschutz sporter actions are not threaded from the factory. The 452 uses dual locking lugs (like an Anschutz model 54 action) the 455 uses a single locking lug arrangement like the Anschutz 64 actions. I like the 452 CZ's

The Anschutz bbls are pressed in, with lock pins. In the CZ, I'll stick with the 452. The reference to threading receivers meant for the 455? Just wondering.

No - wasnt referring to 455 being threaded (actually never heard of this being done to the 455 - yet) was just a general observation that some obsessive compulsive guys will have their (name the brand) .22 with a press fit/pinned receiver threaded in order to accommodate a threaded barrel...while the 452 is already threaded from the factory. Personally I like the threaded arrangement but I recognize that the Anschutz sporter '54 actions have pinned/pressed in barrels and they do 'OK'! The only other .22's that I understand came with factory threaded receivers were the Winchester 69/69A, 72, 75 and 52 .. of course the '52 wasnt too shoddy either!! Just an observation .. but again -- for myself .. I also prefer the 452's

I think the Anshutz will outshoot any CZ regardless of how the barrels fasten. Threaded barrels are generally the better ones.

This thread convinced me to get a CZ 452 Varmint 22LR with a Bushnell Rimfire 6-18x40mm and some Warne high rings ;)

Should receive everything next week.

got it from Dale @ shooterschoice.ca

i like that place.
started buying from him back when Roger still had it, both guys are the best to deal with.
i believe he is a sponsor here too now if im not mistaken.
i like being able to call or email him and chat with him and pick his brain then he will hunt down and order up what i was wanting.
you just cant get that kinda service from the big stores.

I'd really like to get a 452 Lux in .22lr to compliment my 452 American in .22 with 16" barrel. Unfortunately there are a number of other centerfire guns that I want to buy ahead of that so it won't likely happen anytime soon.

something arrived in the mail today!

nice gun, very tight!

of course i just went on shift today so i wont get a chance to shoot it for a week!

not impressed with the magazine, plastic and pretty thin feeling.

Took the CZ 452 (purchased at Jo Brooks) out to CRAFM Sunday and did some ammunition trials. I was happy to find a mid-range ammo (Eley Team) that shot extremely well at 50m.

So I have 2 bricks of the stuff (same lot) and next weekend will stretch its legs at Ruisseau Noir!

Here it is with the Bushnell Rimfire 6-18x40 AO and Warne High rings. Love the turrets!

I think I need more! lol
