If You Had To Sell All Your Guns Except Four

That is too painful to consider, so I won't. I am old enough that my collection has been gained over a period of 40+ years and it suits me well. I don't intend to start over at this age, maybe if I was 30 yo it could be contemplated but not now.

If I had it all to do over again (not that I haven't enjoyed owning many gun models and cals)....... My motto would be "have a plan"....... I didn't and I paid the consequences...... And now it is costing me more to get where I need to be...... Although almost there now.....

That being said, the price I was paying for guns each year will put me on some great hunts...... Which is why I buy the guns anyways........ None of them mean anything to me if I can't make memories with them...... And further to the "4 gun" thread.... My handguns would be the first to go.......

Being a nostalgia minded person, I would keep my Savage 24H-DL in .22/20ga; my Dad's old Tobin 12 ga. double; my first "big rifle - a Churchill No.1 Mk3 .303; and either a 10/22 TD or a std 10/22. The world would have to be on the brink of ending before this happens though.

Reasoning, aside from being keepsakes - .22, 20 and 12 ga are still readily available, and .303 is good enough for anything I will ever hunt. :)

well.... if the zombie appocalypse came here are the 4 I would take.

#1) M1A Supermatch w/JAE GEN 2 Stock leupold mark 4 glass (great gun, drop the scope and it's a solid solid iron sight fighter).
#2) Rem 700 300 WM Stainless 26" schillen match bull barrel w/muzzle break + leupold mark 4 glass (for those long shots that need to punch the 1" of armour)
#3) XCR in .223 w/leupold mark 4 glass (close in... just a shame it can't go FA)
#4) H&K USP .45 (for when the zombies get real close)

painful but I would leave the:
#5) .17 HMR savage
#6) Rem 700 .308 Win Stainless 26" schillen select match bull barrel w/ leupold mark 4 glass
#7) Benelli nova 12g 3 1/2
#8) all the .22's

Whatever you do, don't stop pouring lead! Your bullets are the best... and keep two of the 4 guns I listed in active service :)

Did this; didn't have a plan. Ended up with a .338 win and 500 S&W for centerfire rifles.

Have a plan.

Kept one because it is my favourite, the other was a drag to source and I have lots of reloading components for it; I will hold onto it till the bitter end. I think I will use the 500 for deer next year.

Hmmm

My Husqvarna 9000 in 270
Henry 4570
NEF 17 HMR
Ithaca 37 waterfowl

I could live with that, but I wouldn't be happy. Would really miss my rossi 92 in 454.

ok, I'll play:

My Parker Hale 1200C in 270 Win (first large rifle, gift from my dad, will never sell it).
Marlin Glenfield Model 25 bolt action 22 (very first rifle, gift from my dad, will never sell it).
Husky 98 in .366 Wagner (purchased from the man himself).
12 ga shotgun of some description.

With these four I think I'd have all the bases covered that I need covered. The 270 / 9.3x62 combo is, IMHO, the best two-rifle setup for North American game, and it would handle Africa just fine too if need be.

How about this one?
you have time and room to grab only three guns when you are evacuating a major fire?
original Chance and Sons Muzzle loading shotgun that was owned by my father and bequeathed to my son
my cherished Westly Richards 12 bore hammer double
my Ruger single shot that was built by Bill Leeper
all the rest had potential to burn , thise three were the ones I chose
