So today i went to my spring bear bait pile, last week i put my ground blind up and sprayed it with scent away if anything it smelt like cigarettes. Today i went to find there is not a trace of it i searched fora while couldnt even find a stake! the bag and my chairs were still there so idont believe a person would have done this . but do bear's steal ground blind's?? im hoping to find it next weekend lol that $100, i didnt get a tree stand since i dont have the money atm, i will soon now,...

Amazing the true power of wind. Ever try holding down a small tarp on a windy day, or sails on a ship. Blind can easily sail away like a kite.

The bear stole it and when you least expect it he will set it up close to your bait pile. When you come back to replenish the pile, he will be in your blind ready to pounce on you.

We once found a battered canoe in the back bush lot. It had an initial and last name in it that sounded familiar. Turns out it was an old family friend. Dad called them up and they said they hadn't seen it since the tornado in 79. They lived close to 2 miles away as the crow flies.

Watched my nephew, across the field, fly one on the end of a string for several minutes before he was able to get it under control. At one point I it was pulling him. Yes they will fly so that is why I always tie it to something and have found it laying on the ground at the length of the string more than one morning.

Always amazes me how some people do not think if they leave something in the woods, you may be giving up ownership of it, some may consider it abandoned and help themselves. If you do not want to lose it take it home.

Ya. I know what you mean. I found an abandoned tractor in a farmers field the other day so I took it home.

I strongly suspect from your description that the wind took it. I lost my big patio umbrella off the deck one time and it was amazing how far back in my bush it flew. I think the suggestion of looking farther a field in the direction of the prevailing wind may turn it up. The little wire stakes that comes with the blinds are very small and won't hold much. I always tie my blinds to a couple tress, logs, rocks or whatever is handy that is sturdy.

it wasn't camouflage was it? sometimes that stuff can be so damn good you can lose everything you own in the right surroundings
