Lookie what showed up! This is currently the first and only in the country. Mine is the one that the RCMP used to generate the FRT

It's a shame I won't get to shoot her until next weekend :(

Yes I do. I prefer having somewhat of a reason to have a longer barrel that protrudes other than "my government doesn't allow me to have a normal gun." And it looks OEM. I always find a longer barrel sticking out looks like a bubba job.

Fair enough. I had the option of going with a threaded OEM barrel for my Zev Tech built Glock 19, but it was just as much to have KKM precision in the states make me a 107MM barrel, and it sticks out just a tiny bit. It bugs me, but less than the threaded barrel sticking way out does. Each to their own, I guess. I'd still like to find a non-threaded compliant barrel someday.

If I could get a plain P229 with night sights, srt, and a Canadian legal barrel, threaded or not, I'd be happy too. Can always buy one later if I feel like it. But again, grats on your purchase, it looks awesome.

Don't like the E2 grips much. Price is nice though. But I can't tell if it has srt or night sights.

If it has E2 grips, then I believe it's a new enough model to have the SRT come from the factory. At least that's how it works with the 226 from what I know.

As for the night sights; I have them on my P226 and they're alright, but not so great in the day when you're shooting at a white target. They're by no means bad, but after shooting a P320 with a set of Trijicon HD sights in orange, i'm going to pull the night sights off my gun and replace them.

Be sure to strip it carefully if it came from the RCMP Lab to get any remaining Popsicle sticks and duct tape out of the action, in case they needed to confirm that it was not "easily convertible" to full auto!

My attempt at Friday gun humour...

Well color me green Jelly! A P229 Legion! You lucky Bast......er. I mean, Congratulations! That's a nice score for you. I personally am not a fan of the threaded barrel either, though I get your rationale for doing it. I also don't like the barrel hanging out on my 229 Dark Elite, but I have learned to live with it. You'll have to post up a range report and let us know if the trigger job really is All That and a Bag of Chips! I was hot after a Legion too (any Legion!), but then I sort of found this smoking deal on a low mileage, one owner Porsche Cayman, and my gun budget is gone until mid 2031 or so.......but worth it.
