SAM Handguns

I ordered two stainless 9mm Thunderbolts and had to return both of them due to the unbelievably bad workmanship. Both barrels were junk (rough cut chambers, chip out of the rifling on one) and other parts were poorly fitted, scratched, etc. I have three other SAMs (two SS Commanders and a Sigma) that I bought from Wolverine which were excellent both in finish and accuracy but the Thunderbolts were complete losers and cost $400 more than the others. I sure hope they've improved their quality control or there are going to be a lot of disappointed customers.

i have a Thunderbolt and ive only seen one other at the range, both mine and that one where perfect in every way.

but i agree with what is said above, one of the most attractive things about the SAMs where the price.
if the price keeps jumping they will loose that attractiveness and be just another expensive 1911.

Retail price is determined by our cost, we are charged in US dollars as US dollars are fast becoming the accepted International currency, so our cost is very dependent on the exchange rate with the US dollar. It may be a fact of life that SAM handguns will not be cheap which may mean we have to stop importing them. Hopefully we will have prices available in the next day or so.

Thanks for the imput but sadly there is no consistency with the demand, this makes ordering even more differcult! I may just stay with the cheapest basic models, in which case:

.45 ACP or 9 mm?
Full size or Comander size?
Blue or stainless?
Regular front sight or red fiber optic?

No polymer lowers, no high cap models, no 10 mm and I doubt if there are any .40 S&W.

Just like Henry Ford said "Any colour you like as long as it is black." :)

Looking for a 1911 .45 double stack.
I want inexpesive(cheap) price.
Not loaded but not bottom of the barrel.
I've been watching that blued longslide Sam .45 for a while.
Just not sure of the quality.
$900 for a 6" .45 is a great deal if the fit & finish is there.
That $900 is still a lot of money for me.

Well, since you asked.
-9 mm
-Commander
-Stainless
-Red fibre optic front sight
:)

45 or 9mm
Blue or stainless.
Novak sight cuts w/whatever sight is less expensive. Those who want fiber optic can add it later.

SAM is about quality and value. Bring value, they'll sell.

I have long slide and I just shot it for the first time on Saturday.
It has a really nice fit and finish. I'll replace the grips but everything else is super smooth.
I love the sights. Really nice sight picture.

No FTE, One FTF. Only 20 rounds through it though.
I'll post pictures when I get a chance. That likely won't be for a few days though.

I would be interested in a 9mm Commander with a slight angle to the rear slide serrations (and a bit wider spacing) and NO front slide serrations. Blued not parkerized. Round hammer.

Only black oxide finish, no stainless frames only hard chrome and at least a 10% price increase due to our dollar.

Anyone still interested?
Something like a MEUSOC then: Matte finish, Commander hammer, long trigger, friendly sights. No front serrations or fancy grips.
