Mossberg MVP LC in 5.56 - Good, Bad or Ugly?

I was in the same boat as you were, hemming and hawing over the mossberg.

I went and spoke with a very helpful gentleman at Cabelas in the north end, spoke for 45 mins at the gun counter with him.

He said that they are a great package put of the box for the price. He said they were quite accurate as well. He also said that the return rate on them was 50% or so, due to a plastic piece on the bottom cracking.

I walked out with a Savage model 11 Predator in 223. Haven't looked back.

Anybody know what plastic piece this might be? I was in a shop today that had one of these in .223 and the only plastic I could find anywhere was the magpul hand grip and butt stock, unless you count the mag follower?

I have actually been debating one of these in .223 for a coyote gun this winter.

He was at cabelas, so I wouldn't put much thought into the salesman statements. I watched a salesman in the gun section try and tell my buddy that Dewey/ Tipton one piece cleaning rods were a waste of money and that if he was worried about harming the bore with a brass rod, he could just wrap it in electrical tape. This was at the Barrie cabelas.

Hahaha I heard a salesmen at wholesale sports say that exact line. If your worried just wrap it with electrical tape, the cheap 20$ 3 PC cleaning rod kit set.

Sometimes the #### you hear is hilarious, but at the same time worrying as someone who doesn't know any better would follow their instructions to the tee.

I have an MVP LSS (before the LC was a thing)

it is on sale in the EE now, but Yeah, I like the gun,

It shoots pretty well, (my best groups were under .5") but it is a finicky gun to shoot.

it is very light, and I added a folding stock so it is compact.

It is by no means a beautifully made gun, but it would do fantastic for a truck gun shooting coyotes.
