Well, was in the local gun shop yesterday, and they're stocking 7.92x33 FMJ. made by PPU @ $19/20rds.

I had ran into East German manufactured 7.92x33mm ball, dates early 1970's about 25 yrs ago, when a small number of converted auto '44's came into Canada, with this ammo.

At SHOT 16, I noticed a new production semi-auto run of the MP44, which not only was in the original 7.92x33, but offered in 7.62x39mm, and a couple other calibres such as 5.56x45mm, and .300 Blackout.

The H&G STG-44 is disappointing due to the fact that it only comes with polymer magazines and that is a big turn off in my books.

Yes, when the woman handed me the mag I felt the same. If you're going to produce this rifle, produce it with a steel mag. She said the poly mags were to keep the costs down. Since it was all prototypes, maybe they'll change their minds.

I just re-load with Boxer brass.

Hornady currently has 3 selections that may work for you...The 125gr GMX, the 125gr H.P., and the 125gr SST. The first 2 are new, so it may take awhile before distributors stock them.

Those are .308 caliber, the 7.92x33 is 8mm or .323 . The lightest in that caliber that Hornady lists is 150 gr.
I wish that PRVI would bring in their 8mm 125 gr bullets, but they only bring in their loaded 7.92x33 ammo.
