Bought myself into the kool aid!!

NEA? That sucks man. Any details as far as round count, are you the first owner, when it was built, etc? It's well known NEA and a few others got a bad batch of bolts a while back. If it is an NEA, the good news is they will send you a replacement ASAP so you can get your ar back up and running. Sorry to hear your first sip of the kook-aid wasn't as sweet as it should have been!

Runningfool had it dead on :p

Yup its an NEA. I am the 2nd owner, but I purchased new and unfired.

I have already emailed NEA to see if they will replace it...I really hope they do.

Round count is sitting at about 400 or so....All factory loads. I knew of this issue, so wasnt even surprised or angry when it happened.

Up until today I was pretty satisfied with the gun...works good....couldnt get anything to group decently though....Had some premium ammo to try today....the 79gr Hornady were looking promising....I would like it to shoot a little bit better than minute of barn door!!

I closed my eyes as I swiped the credit card on a colt sa15.7 and a year later I don't regret it for a second. Even "cheap" guns are serious $$$ and I've learned it's better to pay up once and be happy. I see so many threads on here from people who were cheap and bought nothingbut problems.

OP I sincerely wish you the best of luck in fixing this. And for the record the FDE looks great.

^ Glad I'm not the only one thinking that .. I was scratching my head thinking wth? .. They shouldn't still be having bolt problems that's for sure. OP Any idea what generation or when it was manufactured?

If anyone can tell me how to tell when it was made or what gen it is i will look. Lol. I have no idea what to look for.

The first 2 digits of the serial number will give you the year the lower was made iirc. They didn't start making them in burnt bronze until recently though so it should be newer. NEA should be able to tell you if the bolt is from their "problem" batch or not. Regardless of when the bolt was made it is a shame these issues continue to pop up for people.

Ah...in that case its 15....so that would be 2015 i assume....after purchasing i saw all the bad reviews and knew this might be an issue....i was hoping to get lucky. But i forgot....all my luck is really bad!!! I might just get a whole new BCG....

You should. I had an early gen NEA and after reading about the bolt shear issues I wrote them and even though mine hadn't (yet) had any problems, they sent me one of their newer bolts free of charge.
