Odd. Take a look at the channel inside the pivot pin where the detent rides and see if it's worn down.
It's more likely that the detent has worn down than the pin, though nether should have gone so soon. There isn't a good source in Canada for individual spare parts though so you will likely have to order from Brownells or buy a complete lower parts kit.
Get a center punch and stake your castle nut in place once you get it tightened.

Yeahhhhh. .. while I'll admit that the castle nut and front detent are minor issues, they shouldn't happen at all, let alone after 2000 rounds, and especially after it has already been repaired at 500 rounds ...

My deflector on my Windham shows the same wear from cases hitting it. I'm just going to put a piece of black electrical tape there to save some wear.

Yeah brass or 'soldier's gold' left in the anodizing is normal, but the anodizing removed down to bare aluminum after 2000 rounds isn't.
I'd say that is a sh!tty anodizing job.
The front takedown pin/detent issue is curious. I'd wager money on it being the pin being worn.
I wouldn't bother staking the buffer tube, just torque it down properly.
Following this thread and the issues popping up long the way has only one major concern that the retailer sold a supposedly new item with old stock/and or parts as a supposedly Gen2 rifle. The OP obviously is not too upset about this but I have dealt with a few retailers who sell open box products as new with used/ missing parts, and after getting them home i returned them accordingly (ie, a laser light). Now i know retailers have a no return firearm policy but really the retailer should be held accountable for this one way or the other. i do also agree the manufacturer could had replaced the whoe upper receiver at least due to it blowing up like it did...IMHO thats all. I personally really question now how old and item is if its not in its original packing etc or on display, it's difficult to verify the authinticity.

The retailer (who you can find if you dig through this thread) couldn't care less. Even when speaking with management (which was a difficult achievement) I got the feeling I'm of no value to them and just a burden to listen to on the phone. They allegedly had the rifle for 5 months before I bought it, based on my recent experiences with them I find anything they say has to be taken with a grain of salt.
They have offered to take back my junk NEA mags but they haven't returned a phone call or email EVER. It's like pulling teeth, at least NEA will email me back within 48hrs. It's been a month now without an update as they promised, I've been waiting a week between asking for updates as not to annoy - still nothing.
I'm really disappointed with this retailer and their lack of customer concern resolution. I've bought 5 rifles from them in the past 1.5 yrs and spent thousands of dollars in ammo. I think I've demonstrated my level of patience in this thread, I haven't any more for these guys and they way they've handled themselves. I bought my first rifle there, my wife bought her first there as well, guess our kids will be buying their first online.

Well that's pretty cool, the surface treatment reduces corrosion (if not eliminates). I've wondered about that for awhile...not enough to Google it though, thanks TW9Y's for saving me the effort and risking your rifle in the service of science.
That's an extractor, not the ejector.

Sh1t, I just watched the video and can't remember. I remember you said 1000 rounds over 5 range trips but how long did you let it sit without cleaning?
From the first range trip to this video was just over one month. One week went by between the last range visit and this video.

1000 rounds in 45 days without cleaning. Cool. That's the kind of stuff I like to see. Way more realistic a shtf test than throwing your gun in mud or dunking it in a river... Who does that ?
