best metal .22LR targest?

I'm not sure I'm good enough a shot to place the Birchwood/Champion targets in the berm...it's a bit of a ways away, LOL!

I was thinking of what it would take to make post extensions I could set in the ground to place it within. of course that does 'add' complication. :p \

shooting downwards is a bit awkward and quite unnatural. at the range yesterday the guys were shooting bottles set up on some plastic barrels and because they were shooting downwards, some of the shots were skipping/ricocheting into the berm. was quite surprising to see!

found another supplier, Do-It-All sports. horrible website, but some cool products. :)

How far is the first berm? And are you using a hand gun or a rifle? I don't think you mentioned that up to now.

I like the idea of welding on some extensions or making up some sort of stand to one of these to let me situate it a little closer for rimfire handgun shooting at a reasonable height. Shooting a dangler is all fine and good. But a flip away that hides after a hit and can be reset is just that much more fun.

The ranges I shoot at have 25 yard berms. With the targets set at the front base of the berm which is in front of the 25 yard "rail" used for the stands that means I'm shooting at around 23 yards to the targets. For rifle shooting from standing free style holding that's OK for downward angle. It's also a challenge to hit from standing but with well set up sights and a fairly accurate shooting plinker rifle it's not hard to get at least 3 hits out of 5 shots using plain sights. And I get 5 out of 5 just often enough that it gives me a big smile.

But at that distance if it were for handgun? That would be ugly...... Those little 1 3/4 inch paddles seen over a handgun front sight look WAY smaller.
