To the RPR owners would you buy it again ?

I just dropped a cross fire 2 on there. Big thing is life time warranty. I COULD do a write up, but ill wait hahaha. It is doing its job just fine for now!
If you don't have one yet, I would wait or call around and see when the ruger precision "enhanced" I think It is called is coming to market. Better forend and a muzzle brake for what looks like the same price.
Absolutely, I love that ruger set the bar. Savage is now right on their tails, im sure there will be more to come. Ruger has great ideas and has made a game changing play. As I have stated you get what you pay for ! It is a good base, but be prepared to spend more cash to refine it a little if you feel it needed.
If I didn't have parts break on me, it would still be stock. I would have taken it for what it is. Now that I have invested even more money into replacement parts and upgrading, im having second thoughts. I would have gone a different route... Before I had to replace parts, I think it is great bang for its buck... If I could sell it for what I put into it, I think I would. Since I will lose a lot of cash, close to 600 atleast because no one wants to pay full price or pay for "upgraded" parts. I will likely hang onto it also all my non-gunny friends think its badass looking... It doesn't get the same looks as an M40 replica would (What I would try to do if I could now) I may try and test out the EE.

I'm a Ruger fanboy. I don't know what they were thinking with the stock. To me it looks like someone from Ikea designed it. I haven't seen the rifle in person. I am happy with what's been coming out of Ruger in the last ten years. I don't think this rifle would have got the seal of approval from Mr Bill Ruger himself.

Jard makes a drop in trigger for the RPR... Little spendy tho.
My experience with the RPR is pretty close to the OP's.. Nothing has broken yet tho... I'm getting 1MOA out to 600 yards with 6.5 Creedmoor 120gr Amax match and slightly better with the 140gr ELD match, haven't noticed any fliers yet..
Tried reshaping both the ruger mags with a file to smooth the sharp edge on the feed lips and slightly bending the lips to allow straight push down loading... Didn't work the first attempt but it's better.
I've miss the savage I sold off to fund buying the RPR... but I don't regret it.... Not sure if do it again tho.
yea, it hurts when you mag doesn't feed so the bullet top gets all bent and deformed...

I've just been using the mag from my Norc M14, its more reliable than the ruger mag even tho you need to give it a jiggle every now and then.

I've handled and shot a couple DTA's... I like em... But I like the PGW Coyote more... Care to guess what's on my shopping list next? Lol.
The only mags I've ever really really loved were the single stack in my Sauer and my M14 mags... I've never had a problem with either at all... They just seem to work no matter how hard I try to mess things up... Of course I haven't owned an AI mag yet.
I might pick up some of the magpul mags in my LGS see how they do.
Amazing, thinking next week ill order a 24 OZ (2lb) trigger from them. This is being used in the field and on game, don't want to much of a hair trigger ! Lol

From what I briefly read about the Jard trigger on the Hide apparently you can order different pull weight springs for it... Maybe I'm thinking of something else but I'm pretty sure it was for the Jard
hey have them listed on their site, the 2lb was the heaviest I could find
There are plenty of reviews on both out there to read. I've owned a PST 4-16x50 and several Sightron SIIIs and in my opinion the Sightrons are much superior in glass and fit / finish. I just wish Sightron had more Mil/Mil offerings.

My only issue is the rear butt stock which jams at times. I am going to replace it with a Magpul PRS Buttstock.
I would definitely buy it again, given the value for $$ and would not hesitate to get it in 6.5 creedmoor again as well.

I'd buy it again, price was right for what I wanted, my hand guard was centered, mine groups better than I can shoot, the stock works for me and if you actually read the instructions on adjustment you can see the riser lever needs to be turned to adjust and when in the right position for locking it takes little effort and no reason to be forced or over stressed causing failure, settings of the stock also need to be positioned in the correct notch before lock down.
Most of the online reviews #####ing about the stock that I've seen the guy didn't know how to properly use it, guys complaining about the riser position and in the manual tells you it can be reversed if needed, or guys pulling and forcing the parts not turning the lever 1/2 turn, or complaining the adjustment moves because they are trying to lock stuff down between the notches.
People are welcome to dislike what they want and buy or sell what they don't like or want, but at least properly operate something before trashing it.
My comments are not directed towards anybody in this thread, just my observations of some online reviews I've seen, and I'm glad I didn't let them effect my decision to buy one.

yea I had to read the instructions when I first took it out of the box. Didn't want to pull/crank/push it into place and have it break.
It still broke, and it still got caught in my jackets/camo lol.
I like the PRS, as I said I'm happy with it now. I will be upgrading the front rail when I can find one.
No , I would not buy another , as the value for money is slipping , and really , the main reason , I brought it at all , was I was curious .
At the new prices/models in NZ they will be close to 3k , IF I was to double that figure I would be looking at a base AI AT , opps .
They are stunning value in the USA market at basically 1k USD , less so in other countries , in NZ we pay close to double , and in the UK they pay close to triple , so to me they make less sense on a sliding scale once outside the USA .
I would buy a good 2nd hand one at a sharp price , other than that I will be spending money on more AIs & maybe a GAP Tempest action .
Buy the RPR cheap and use it as is , in my view , spending a lot to re-barrel , re-stock etc , is wasted money , save that money and buy a AI or simlar top end rifle .
In short donot put lip stick on a pig , a waste of time & money , as you still have a pig .

thanks for the honest and balanced review. I have not bought myself a rifle in a few years and I was mulling over the Ruger in 243 before reading your review.
I thought it would be good to try something new. I think if I do buy now it will be a Savage 12 LRP. Kinda boring as I already have a couple of Savage actions in HSP stocks. But I guess I know what I like.
