Must carry Conditions cut-out along with PAL/RPAL at all times?????

mine is in my range bag so regardless of what i am bringing out i have it with me. restricted or not it is in a plastic document protector sleeve next to each restricted registration sheet. all together should i need to produce them when i am transporting firearms. the protector sleeve is somewhat waterproof.

i do not carry it in my wallet. that is where i keep my pal/rpal.

if i do not have firearms with me i do not have to produce the piece of paper.

my 2 cents.

i am not a lawyer nor do i play one on tv.

Contravention of conditions of licences, etc.

110 Every person commits an offence who, without lawful excuse, contravenes a condition of a licence, registration certificate or authorization held by the person.
Marginal note:punishment

111 Every person who commits an offence under section 110 or who does not comply with section 103

(a) is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years; or

(b) is guilty of an offence punishable on summary conviction.

This here is the simple answer.

You only need the sheet in a situation where an officer would suspect that you have a firearm that has restrictions.
The sheet only becomes important when you have a restricted firearm with you and the officer asking to see your license can't swipe it on the spot or can't call in to verify.
If you only have non-restricted firearms with you, your license alone is enough.

You can either keep the paper folded up with your license or keep it with whatever firearms require it when you go to the range, but you would only ever need it if you are in possession of whatever firearm has the restrictions.

Too bad that is not what the law says.

If you have firearms or in a situation where an officer thinks you have firearms you are required to have it. It has nothing to do with whether or not the firearms are restricted. Technically you are required to have at all tie, but the chances of you having to produce your PAL without having any firearms present is not very high.

The card itself will last a long time

The conditions section is meant for additional information which is not printed on the license.
If you just have Standard Conditions on your license, having the paper with you won't help you or the officer glean any new information.

Obviously, it's a good idea to just carry it everywhere for piece of mind.

If your conditions sheet says you must carry it as a condition you are breaking the law if you dont. End of story

That is what the law says, not what you think it was intend for

If you choose to break the law that is fine. But that does not mean that what you choose to do is reflected in the law. And that you should try to convince others that it is legal.

The law doesn't mention the conditions paper (or at least the section that you posted) and I would imagine it is 'enforced' differently in Quebec as it is in the Yukon.

I am sorry but you seem to have no clue and it might be best if you refrained from telling others what the law is.

The conditions sheet is a list of conditions attached to your license. The law says it illegal to not follow any of those conditions. Anything on that list is a condition including to carry the sheet.

You were the one who mentioned a law. The law doesn't mention the conditions sheet, but it does mention those 3 weak scenarios that you just listed, so they are irrelevant.
You could post up the law you are talking about instead of getting all bent out of shape.

The special conditions aren't written in law because they are applied at the provincial level.

So go ahead and post up where in section 110 any of those are mentioned. Since apparently if it is not listed there I dont need to do it

Let try this

Take the conditions sheet you received with your PAL that you have had for about a month now
Flip it over and what does it right say after SPECIAL CONDITIONS (continued)?

Thats right, carry this document.

Carrying the sheet is a special condition of your license.

You are wrong get over it

I asked the CFC about this when I received my first PAL and was told that unless there are special conditions listed on the paper carrying it wasn't required. I leave mine in the safe with the other gun-related paperwork.

This system has been in place for over two decades. No doubt there would have been reports on this site if anyone had been charged for not having the piece of paper during a PAL check but so far none that I can recall. I don't plan to start carrying mine and nothing I've seen here convinces me otherwise. YMMV.
