Just another heads up that the military museum in Oshawa has a super event next weekend 27-29 May, if you are in the area its worth going to so you see things exploding, tanks shooting (blanks), reenactors and vintage equipment, scale model builders, militaria and milveh parts venders....much to see and take in.

Would have loved to stay for Sunday show but had to get back home( 8 hour drive ) I did go to the Cornwall show on the way home ( small gun show ). I did get there for the Friday's run about saw the great dust storm that got kicked up by the Desert Storm crew ! Realy added to the realism! The controller in the tower had a conniption and threaten to shut them down LOL ! Saturday show the Tommies did a great show as did the Jerry`s, it would have been the cherry on top if they were aloud to fix bayonets in the last charge ! It was a big thriller ( to me anyways) just to hear the tanks run around.:canadaFlag::wave:

Well, this sucks.

Now to await parts, take the schwimmer apart, do the repair then reassemble the car.

"hand start" not working so well? Or broken of the motor. Would only break if you use it. And you do take it to shows. Its a must see, thanks. In Oshawa sat. looked great near the "camp".

There is a smaller, more "static", show this weekend up the road at the Georgina Military Museum if anyone is in the area.

Usually a pretty good turn out.

Well at least it didn't grenade (blow a part )but yea! It's a pain/charm of old Antiquated Machinery break they will usely at the most Opportunital time to inflict misery on there owners! All one can do is grin and bear it and hope for some Charitable Souls To push LOL! Well at least you have the possible excuse of slave labour for the cause of the break downs ,adds to the story's to be told! Happy that you were on dry land :)

If that happened on the Russian Front in -50C, that would really suck big time. And it probably did. Is that roughly a 30 to 36 horse power VW pancake horizontally opposed engine?

Well, this sucks.

^ Here is my tale of woe regarding the double pulley coming apart. Towards the end of the Saturday at Aquino my car and a R75 BMW went for a little drive (like a couple hundred meters) and on the return I drove through a steep ditch. At that point the transmission mount must of failed allowing the engine and transmission to slide rearward enough for the three studs on the pulley (used to provide power to the swimdrive) to make contact with the three castle nuts of the swimdrive. The transmission mount is original and after 72 years the rubber failed and had gone "punky" enough to allow things to move about and with a clearance of only about 3-4mm that's all the engine had to move to contact pulley to swimdrive. To get to the transmission mount one has to take the car apart indepth, not overly hard, just a lot of work and with a like new refurbed original coming over as we speak I can start pulling the engine and transaxle this weekend, the only way to do this is go "full yardsale". What was hard to find in the past was replacement mounts which surprisingly was easy to find, not like I can just wander into Carquest/Napa and order one in. The pulley........well that is an big issue at this time. With the transaxle out I can fool around setting up a rear torsion bar so the lean at the front is corrected. All in all an expensive little drive and much work but in the end the car will be better for it.
