.22lr ammo prices.

last time I was in Saskatoon they wouldn't sell me more than 200rds at a time. Went to south common Edmonton and they would have sold me the pallet of federal target . Roughly 50 cases at under 32 per box (300rds) and that wasn't the only ammo in the shelf. They were the only big shooting store that really had any stock.

I bought myself 10K worth of CCI Velocitor about a year or so ago. very good price. $350/case of 5K rounds. :D

Wow...that's like +140,000 rounds. My buddy shoots almost 5000/year and I thought that was a lot, but you must be going through a ton!

Peavy Mart is having customer appreciation days 15% off everything in store so you can get a 525 pack of federal for $36 not a great deal but 7cents a round

If you are close to Vancouver, Reliable Gun has CCI Blazer 5000 rds for $340. I wish I was because the shipping kills it for me.

Interesting... Anyone know what the difference is between the CCI Blazers @ 1235fps, and the CCI mini-mags @ 1235fps? I have been generally shooting the mini-mags, but I like the price on the blazers much better.

Wholesale Sports has Thunderbolts 500 pack not on sale but @ 34.99 per 500 brick and free shipping over $100 even on ammo, I combined it with another purchase and got 10 bricks, not the highest quality but does go bang .I spent some time searching the Canadian Suppliers to not find a better online price.Cabelas do have better pricing on the Winchester M22 with free shipping advertised but read the small print no free shipping on explosives(ammo)

My 452 shoots Blazer way better, but it's "waxier" stuff than the MMs. It's my #1 choice as a gophernator. :)

blazers are lead, mini mags are copper plated. which probably explains the price difference.

The CCI Mini Mags bullets are copper plated and the Blazer bullets are pure lead (slightly waxed). The CCI Mini Mags are nicely packed in a plastic container while the Blazers are lousy packed into a flat piece of plastic with holes in it. Regarding accuracy, IMHO the Blazers are inferior to the Mini Mags in every of my 22LR rifles and pistols which I own (the Zastava M22/Z5, the TOZ-99, the GSG StG 44 Schmeisser, the Grand Power 22S, the GSG 1911 and the Norinco M93 Sportsman). Not by a great margin, though, but nevertheless.

Thanks for the info on the Blazers. Anyone think I would have problems running them through my S&W M&P22 pistol? The MM's run perfectly. I do know some wax on them while loading them in the mags, but usually just brush it off. Have had no problems, but always interested in a cheaper alternative if it's a decent quality.

I find them to be very reliable, that has been my experience with them.
