Mmmmmm, nice! I was searching for the CORE today. Al's had them at a good price at one time but no longer listed.

Counter clockwise from 1 o'clock, I think. Don't particularly like the M&P but that's a nice little family picture, if for the dedication to the brand alone. Impressive.

They always look ###y with a mounted optic, but I have to admit that it's beyond my wallet. Even just the core is $200ish more, then the optic. As far as the 5" goes, I think I am making a solid decision. Anyone find that 115's are an issue with the heavier slide weight? I have always shot 124's without issue on the 4.25.

LOL I've always shot 114's with more success than 124's with my 4.25. But, there you go.

I can't say from experience about the Smith 5". Of course, more length is better (Giggity). I had a chance to play with my buddy's new Sig (oh, I dunno, what is it now, the 320? 330?) Something like that. It has a longer slide. What a great gun. The extra length, to me, makes a positive difference. As an aside, it doesn't look like it has adjustable backstraps so my Gorilla hands don't fit correctly. I have a Storm Lake barrel (5" with comp cuts) in my Smith now and it's a freakin tack driver. The downfall is that with the longer SL barrel, the sights are still the 4.25" distance apart, and I noticed a difference between my 4.25" Smith and the 5" Sig.

for some reason for a couple years in a row i had extra cash and would run into super sales.
now if the dollar would get back up higher id consider picking up the 357sig version from the states and importing it to call my collection complete.

Extra barrel length makes sense for the Pro, but no difference for the CORE with optic. Most benefit from extra length comes from sight radius... using a RDS makes it moot!

That said, go for the swap!

How's this sound for weird? I removed the Apex hard sear and trigger spring. I left the Apex sear plunger spring in and now the sponge is gone, though I still have a bit more travel than I want. Three hours of trial and error later, I have an acceptable configuration and accuracy, though it's only as good as my 4.25 so far. Work in progress I guess.
