many in the rifle sub-forum say they don't clean their .22LR rifles...so I wonder about pistols.

I used to clean my pistols, but now I just keep them oiled. haven't cleaned them in years. they are still more accurate than me and I can keep all my shots in a 6" circle at 10 yards, so I'm happy. :)

I don't own a .22 pistol but I only clean the barrel and scrub what I can reach in the chamber and breech of my 10/22. I've never stripped mine to the nitty gritty. I hear there are small nasty springs in there.
If it was a .22 revolver, I would clean it like normal.

I don't clean until I get malfunctions occurring. Usually failure to extract/stovepipe. Usually a couple bricks.

This is where I have settled as well. I find no difference in accuracy on my MKIII until it gets a little too gritty on the inside - usually after about 1000 rounds.

My buckmark needs a cleaning after every range visit. Although that can be stretched if I'm using CCI ammo. My Beretta can go three times as long without a cleaning.

Every 2-3 range trips

Similar. I clean my 10/22 every 3 range trips. Since I shoot a lot more rounds down a semi-auto rifle this comes out to apx 500-600 rounds in my 10/22. But with pistols I don't shoot as many rounds per trip but I still clean every 3 range trips so this might only be 200-300 rounds. I've gone 600 rounds down the 10/22 and it's still reliable but my Ruger Standard (pre MKI) pistol would be a different story so I feel every 200-300 is max.

I only shoot CCI so I would say ammo could make a big difference. 500-600 rounds of white box crap might crud up a lot more than CCI!

Browing Buckmark. Quick wipe down of the area inside the slide and around the chamber, wipe the barrel couple of drops of oil. Only time I stripped it was to install the mount for a red dot sight.

my 10 22 can go thousands of rounds without cleaning and still function fine. Pistols ( buckmark and S&W 22A) .I find need to be cleaned more often so I do it after every trip 300 -500 rounds. This has been my experience.

stripping a 10 22 is very easy, no nasty small springs only one on the guide rod.

I had a nylon 66 shot thousands of rounds then started jamming , about 20 years , I didn't know how to take it apart . I then discovered the intra- net , cleaned it and back same as ever . The barrel did get cleaned time to time . I'm a fanatic now age has changed me

Every trip....just can't seem to put them away dirty....we're talking field strip here?

I did that until I started to take 3 or 6 pistols at a time. Tried to clean all 6 in one sitting, 8 hours later realized I hate cleaning guns. Then it just got to the point when one started to act up I'd clean it.

However my carry weapon (in USA) is cleaned and lubed after every use.
