Shop Anschutz or Refit Lilja to CZ?

The trouble with having a good reputation for accuracy, like Anschutz does, is that you're expected to live up to it with each and every gun you make.
One of my favorite expressions is, "Don't make it too good, they'll expect it all the time!"
A 64 isn't a 54, which is why Anschutz still sells so many 54s.
Some of us try to get ahead of the game by making a CZ shoot better than average. They're the cult rifle for the bolt action crowd, just like the 10/22 is for the auto loader aficionados. Decent quality, low price, aftermarket parts available, excellent results possible.. game on!

+1

I would have to agree 100%

I don't know if anybody has asked but what borescope did you buy?

Hawkeye 17" kit.

How many failed your standards.

The CZ 455, it is obviously defective and will never shoot well. They all have their own imperfections, some will make a person grimace more than the others. I'll admit I am new to seeing things with a bore scope so I am learning and starting to make connections between what is observed with the scope and how the rifle performs. The weatherby has areas of concern though could smooth out with use and cleaning with JB paste time will tell. The Savage has many circular marks 90 degrees to the rifling all the way down the barrel yet this doesn't have an obviously detrimental effect on precision. It also has one of the cleanest leade areas which I suspect is the more critical area than the overall barrel. The 597 a few really deep circular marks like the savage and some pits/chips out of the lands at the leade but performs way better than the CZ. It may improve with some fouling, groups got better after 100 shots but these defects will never smooth out. It would make the 1/2" challenge were it not for the blemishes I got 5/20 groups under 1/2" with it last time out but it shows the fouling pattern of the CZ on a smaller scale just around 1" at the extreme. The browning looks pretty good overall I've never taken it out for an accuracy test though will have to mount a scope and try it soon. Rem 7400 is just a fail gun in all aspects. The vanguard has never lived up to its sub-moa guarantee, it has many imperfections that run parallel to the rifling. It was extremely copper fouled on inspection, so much for clean patch = clean bore!
