Gentlemen,
I'm looking for a name of the rifle that I found was mentioned in old Soviet book (1939) on firearm.
Rifle was referred as "English automatic rifle, Galle system", however it's most likely semi-automatic. Also year 1906 mentioned and caliber 7.71mm which I think is .303 British. "Galle" is my transliteration and I was not able to find any name similar to this, nor any reference. Here's the picture from the old Soviet book.
Any help in identifying rifle and designer would be appreciated.

The only British design that came to mind was the Farquhar-Hill, but the dates don't match.

The gun was patented in 1908, and heavily revised for trials in 1915.

Also, the bolt and recoil mechanism bear no resemblance tot he schematic you provide, but that's of the 1915 version. Who knows what the 1908 version looked like.

But that's the only early British semi auto I can find any reference for.
