Ok..so I grabbed a new CC lower...now the question is..what do I put on top of it ?..A UIR would do well perhaps ?..Trying to keep things as light as possible.. thoughts..?

Yet another question..CC mags..do they make them here or are they US..?..

The magazines which came with the SA15.7 and SA20 are Colt US made in Hartford, CT. Here is a pic that is from one of the links Mister Donut pasted for you..

Excellent. .I have never had a complete rifle, until now..We have builds..actually all of them are..from various manufacturers...and all shoot quite well..Finally decided to take the plunge, never had a Colt before, and the fact that she's made here is even better...
Now the wait begins. .*giggles*..

Colt doesn't make mags , they are made by contractors with their own floor plates .

I have read that there are very few manufacturers that make or meet the standard of what would be used USGI wise..are the Diemaco marked mags made here or are they contracted out..??

IUR's good, especially if you can pick up a cheap 'blem' one on the EE. A bit heavy, though. Might want to wait for CC to release the MRR uppers, if you're not in a rush. Alternately the HK MR223/MR556 uppers are awesome, if you can find a used one. Pretty rare, though, and also a bit on the heavy side. I don't think I've ever seen one on the EE. I wanted one, so ended up just getting the whole HK rifle.

If you want your AR light, the IUR may not be good for you. It is quite heavy.
If you plan on shooting a lot quickly in a range session and accurately, get the IUR. If you shoot slowly and don't plan on a lot of CQB matches, then a light weight pencil barrel may work better. Depends on what your priorities are.

IUR is not perfect, but there is no better value that I can see. $550 for the "blem" models that shoot sub moa...

However, if you have money to spend, then the sky is the limit.

Scrounged up a UIR,new in the bag so that will be the latest, interesting that it has a bit of weight to it...should not be a big issue as I'm getting too old to be running through the bushes and crawling in the mud...attacking paper will do .

Been said that the UIR was extra from a contract...anyone know where they were going ? Just curious if it was here or out of country. .

They were for the danish. The contract was not exercised. so they make them anyways to sell to civilian.

And whatever sent to the Danes were returned, hence the blemished ones for cheap.

I hope we made the right decision! I am very happy with my colt Canada lower with iur. Changed out the charge handle for a Noveske raptor. Just mounted the dr, I can't wait to get out to the range!
