Hello,

I have a Diana 350 magnum .22 air rifle I bought new in box. It came with a Bushnell Legend ultra HD 4.5-14 x 44mm scope. I was wondering if this scope would be alright to use with this Diana air rifle. I don't want to use the scope on the Diana it if it will end up damaging it.

Any info would be appreciated

Thanks

I don't know about that particular scope, but I would put about 500 shots through the rifle before I mounted any scope on it.
Full power 350's are scope killers during break in.

My understanding is that scopes must be air rifle rated... Or you risk damaging them... So, if it doesn't say... Then I would NOT use it on the air rifle & maybe look at Hawke optics or something similarly rated for air rifles.

Cheers
Jay

Look on the web site i think they have only one air rated scope. I have destroyed a couple Bushnell scopes on air guns. I have replaced them with air gun scopes from Stoeger $ 75.00 bucks work great.

Not sure if the this Bushnell is airgun rated, but you stated it came with it, and you bought it new in box? Did it come together from a retailer?

Also, new purchased Legend HD scopes are covered by the 'no questions asked limited lifetime warranty'

Forgive my ignorance, but I have to ask the question. Are you guys saying that these rifles are harder on scopes than a 7mm Rem Mag or .300 Win Mag? I would have thought that any rifle that would handle recoil from a ledge caliber hunting rifle would shrug off anything that an air gun could create.

Not trying to be a troll or anything. I'm genuinely curious. Never having handled the higher end air guns I didn't realize that they were this hard on scopes

It has to do with the way the lenses are braced inside the scope... An air rifle's recoil is different than powder burners, so if the scope is not air rifle rated, the air rifle's recoil will shake the lenses loose.

Just has to do with the way spring airguns recoil. Ive seen them shear stop pins, elongate holes. 5 cross bolt mounts shift.

As far as I know every bushnell made is rated for spring guns. I'm not saying that they are going to stand up, nor suitability of individual models for purpose but the official stance is that they are GTG. Every last Leupold made definitely is. There are others.

Centerfire scopes have it pretty easy. Besides the mostly one way recoil forces, a centerfire shooter can't throw 1000 rounds in their pants pocket and forget they are there.

That's s what is unique about spring powered Airguns. They actually recoil backward, then also forward with each shot. A center
Fire scope is not designed to withstand the reverse recoil.

Bushnell claims that models from the Trophy line and up are airgun rated.
