I've noticed over past half year or so that very little has been said about the Arsenal Strike One pistols. Have they gone the way of the great buffalo or have they just fallen from favor with most people. I remember looking at them at Target Sports, Gormley Ontario but haven't seen any for sale for a long time.

Don't know why the Strike One is not popular in ON (guess I should advertise more), most orders we getting are from BC, AB, and QC stores. Blue Wolf new ON store will receive them shortly.

looks like a very good platform, very accurate (and very ugly), lol, but that seems to be a trend among accurate pistols, the uglier the better, haha.
Anyway, I do not like the sights (propietary sight system). Makes it nearly impossible to change sights. At one point there was a discussion of the GEN2 of these, with a different type of sights, they never saw the light it seems? Maybe someone with experience on these can chime in.

I would buy one if it was not for the sights.

The "GEN2" is actually called the Strike One Speed. They are available in Canada

I've seen and shot two of the first Gen Strike One.
Love the low bore axis, interesting trigger feel but not hard to get used to. Aims well and pretty accurate guns.
Problem is they were both jam-o-matics. All kinds of failures, from light primer strikes to stovepipes.
One guy went to the Glock, the other to a Springfield XDM.

I had a gen1 for a while. I had two complaints: 1) the arctic grey or whatever looks amazing but the sights are basically invisible - don't expect to run one at speed, and 2) who calls their first foray into something the "strike one"? How can that possibly bode well?

Anyway they're rare because they're pricey and strange and IMO mainly appeal to collectors who want a piece of exotica...but they're still a polymer service pistol. I don't imagine you'll ever see a ton of them because there will never be the aftermarket support of the common options.

Kind of interesting, though.

I think it's always interesting to see something that breaks away from the hegemony of the Browning action.

Gun owners put the industry in a real catch-22. Everyone want newer, lighter, more accurate firearms, but on the other hand, any time a company releases a new design (or even redesigned existing model) and it doesn't work just as well as the older model that's been tweaked over the past 20+ years, the new design will get completely roasted and the company along with it. For example, 4th gen Glocks.

The firearms industry seems to be at a real high point commercially, but from the perspective of someone that really likes tinkering with machines it's a real sad state of affairs to see nothing but repeated iterations of established designs with only cosmetic changes.

Anyways, that's a bit of a tangent. The Strike One is definitely on my short list. The gray/stainless ones look gorgeous for their strangeness .

what?? I bought one, and its functioned 100% for me so far! Ive had no light strikes, jams, stovepipes, etc. And the accuracy is bar non best i've ever shot. I LOVE it! After shooting mine, my buddys P226 feels like im holding a 2x4..... ;-)
