Hi all, I recently picked up a K. Kale 1942 Turkish Mauser, it has mismatched numbers (including barrel) and a rather pretty stock with a barrel band spring not screw.
I'm wondering what the value of this rifle is? (if someone is willing to post pics for me, please pm)

One I picked up was 1941 K.Kale in need of a serious cleaning and it cost me 200$.

They are not very valuable.A lot of them have been in service for a very long time and Turkish conscripts banged them about a lot.

Thanks! I think mine may have escaped any serious mistreatment, anyway good to know I got a deal!

On as side note, is anyone aware of the approximate time of import? There's surprisingly little info about these for a Mauser pattern rifle...
 
i just picked up a turk mauser model 1893 with matching numbers ,very good bore and overall very good condition referbed in 1933.It has the thick floor plate and what looks like was once a mag cut of on the side and another unique feature that i have never seen is a curved extension on the bolt release lever
 
A lot came onto the market in the late 1980's and 90's and sold out from dealers in the early 2000's.

Almost impossible to get one with all matching serial numbers, only every heard of 1 or 2 examples in about 20 years looking for a correct matching example and both were in the USA.

I have heard it said that the average Turkish soldier and NCO and army regulations in particular never paid any attention to keeping matching parts together when they would strip them down and clean them all together in the barracks.

Same thing happened when they arsenal refurbished them before placing them in long term storage, as long as they went back together and the headspace was good they never bothered re-matching serial numbers to the parts.

I have had a few and found them all to have been excellent and accurate shooters with very good quality barrels.

$200 - $350 is a very decent price for a nice, all original example.
