3 gun rules and AR mag capacity

Just a warning Beouwolf magazines are a prohibited device if you get caught by the Police . You will be charged your firearms seized until the out come of the courts ..

It won't go to court, ask the guy who had his seized and returned as stated in a previous thread here.
 
I got one of the atrs 10rd pistol mags..they look and feel solid...drop free...etc.
I have a 5rd 50 beowolf mag...sold by an ontario company...work great so far...all metal.

Please either back up this claim or delete it. That kind of unsubstantiated statement only serves to create confusion and problems on the range.

Quite simple actually and even you will understand. The 50 cal Beouwolf magazines are in fact a standard 20 rnd or 30 rnd nato stanag , AR 15/ M16 magazine . That is crimped or pinned from Alexander Arms to accept 5 rnds of 50 Beouwolf cartridges. The magazine are not manufactured purposely for the Beouwolf cartridge they are in fact modified by Alexander Arms. Alexander Arms has marketed its cartridges 6.5 Grendel and the 50 Beouwolf as being able to use standard 556/ 223 AR magazines .

Hey i have suggestion for you. Next time you go to the range notify the Police and let them know which range you will be at and tell them you are shooting your AR style rifle with a magazine that holds 14 rnds of 223/ 556. So what do you think will happen ??? I mean you obviously know every thing about this !!!

So how much did it cost him last time I checked lawyers were not very giving of there time. Some jurisdictions will actively peruse charges to prove a point that your pockets are not deep as you thought .
 
We have had the CFO at the range, while a competition has been running, with your "questionable" magazines and guess what? Nothing happened! No charges, no questions , no anything!
 
lawyers are never giving of their time..i think they also bill you when they dream of you in their sleep
i think they bury that cost in dispersment fees or "virtual client interaction"

So you heard from a friend of a friend? Or you called someone at the Alberta CFO's office and they told you this over the phone? I'm surprised you didn't list your LGS as a source as well.

Yeah I think you're going to have to do a bit better than that. Please provide a verifiable example of someone having all of their firearms confiscated for being in possession of a 50 Beo mag as you suggest. Until then, it would be best for you to quit spreading bad info - it does us more harm than good.

My understanding of the law around these mags is as follows, the STANAG 5.56 mags that were modified to hold 50 beuwolf are prohibited. That said there are LOTS of companies making STANAG 50 beuwolf specific mags. Meaning they were designed and built for 50 beuwolf. These are not prohibited and widely available.

So just to recap, we know that a firearms owner had his Beo mags confiscated by the RCMP, he didn't have his firearms seized, he didn't have to go to court, it didn't cost him anything in legal fees, the RCMP returned his mags to him...basically your post was complete BS.

Your narrative on this issue shows that you have your head firmly planted in the sand . When the RCMP come down with a heavy hand and enforce this issue and close down gun shops ,Everyone will be up in arms and I will not feel sorry for those that get caught up in this .It is always better to err on the side of caution than throw common sense into the wind for some on here common sense is lacking .

I prefer to base my decisions on the law and real examples and not listen to Chicken Littles like you. While you're erring on the side of caution, some of us are standing up and exercising our rights under the law. I'm sure that the RCMP will get quite the chuckle reading your comments - they don't have to worry about tightening up magazine laws with good little citizens like yourself erring on the side of caution.
