Utas xtr 12

hi John,
just so i understand correctly here.....i really want one of those by the way, i will buy no matter what classification.
but, in the event you work your magic and get them changed to non restricted, what would be the process for individuals who bought them, to get non restricted status applied on their purchases.
thanks

BTW...normal procedure for most of Canada....Kebecqistan would be different a bit i suppose.

It would be the same as what happened with the MKA 1919 earlier this spring. The process for you is:

You wake up, read the status has been changed on the FRT. Then you say wow, it's NR. Haha

ok....you have my attention.
when can i send my money....OD it is.

We are accepting orders now but as they are not in stock yet you will need to send an e-mail or call in, you can not order out of stock items from the web site. The first shipment should be leaving Turky any day, if they haven,t already left. We are taking full payment and will ship when they arrive.

Hi there, im Sebastián and i live in Chile, i recently bought a XTR-12. And i have a few things that i want you to know;

1- This isn't an Ar-15 patterned design, it's a Ar-10 based gun.

2- UTAS, send me this;
"Sebastian, we are still administering torture tests to see if it would be compatible with 308 uppers. We cannot with good faith state that our lower will be compatible with 308 uppers until we have gone through the appropriate amount of tests. "

3- Works good with light charges, but not too well with ""soft"" shells (i mean soft plastic).

4- Ar10 (and ar15) uses the same trigger-group than the XTR12

5 - "Modern Weapon system" said; "WE HAVE VERIFIED THE DMPS PATTERNED UPPER AND LOWER WORK WITH 308 UPPER LOWER AND MAGAZINE", but i don't know wich one.

6 - Absolutely well made, and the better mag i've ever seen. Aluminium follower.

7 - 100% metal-made (Except for the stock)

8 - The barrel is fluted and HUGE, but it is a very confortable gun. With factory flash hider.

PROS; Ar-10 based // well made // confortable // light weight // the lower and the upper are made of aluminiun, not magnesium. (NICE!) // barrel is fluted (NICEEE!) // the trigger is nice, very nice trigger // AR-10 BASED !!!! so you can put a .308 upper on it. // the bolt stays back after the last shot // the stock is adjustable and very nice quality (you can change it if you want to) // VERY customizable gun; You can use almost every aftermarket product for ar-10(dmps) guns, grips, buffers, stocks, lowers, triggers, and so on.

CONS; Just come with one magazine, really? just one? // come without iron sights // ONE MAGAZINE !!?? REALLY ?! //

BTW, the barrel and bolt are made of 4140 steel , and the lower and upper body of Aluminium 7075-T6 ;)

I need to shoot 500 rounds more to speak about reability :) :)
And i'm really really sorry for my bad english. Have a nice day friends :)

Unreal, it's restricted... OK, I get it. .. AR 10.

I was going to return my unfired Alpha Arms mag fed semi until I read the Utas XTR is restricted.

I know the Canadian market is tiny... but how difficult would it be for UTAS to make the XTR Canadian compliant?

@traviskay: @rcmpgrcpolice William Etter, Chief Firearms Technologist. Your assessment of UTAS XTR-12 is astoundingly ignorant. #nfa #ccsa #ccrf

That was my tweet a little earlier. I read through the locked thread where Wolverine posted the response letter from the Lab. Now, Mr. Etter is wrong, on every single point. Is this how the lab works? Seriously, and referencing a youtube video, OMG.

Actually i think his assessment it left to interpretation. Not knowing what wolverine sent in for documentation aside, i think there room here for another application or appeal if his points of reference can be contradicted or disproven.

His response i thought was quite clear that he feels there isn't enough documentation regarding the firearm and its function. Hence referencing only a few videos

I personally bought one from wolverine and hope they work on an appeal but with all due respect TRAVIS KAY, id like to see your distain/frustration channeled into a professional letter pointing out and contradicting his points that you say are all inaccurate/ignorant and work towards an appeal

I'm a big fan of action instead of flaming people or calling out a police officer/public servant publicly for doing his job with little to show in support of your claims.

Im personally hoping to help in a appeal but clearly somethings missing here especially since other carbine ar type shotguns have been allowed.

Hashtags aside i feel this is what gives responsible gun owners a poor view from the general public. Write a letter, be proactive.

Also not knowing a lot except basic with ar's etc id like learn as well what's ignorant or inaccurate.

hi,
would you guys be able to give us an ETA on these?
I've been looking everywhere, and cant find anything as if, this one was dead before it made to Canada.
please tell us what you know.
