3 gun question

It's the GI JOE wannabes that crack me up! Lol

You do realize that you're running around shooting guns for no apparent reason right?

And you're going to make fun of others who are doing the exact same thing,
but wearing a different brand of clothing?

Yeah, that makes sense.

Do those rules only apply to sanctioned matches?
I have heard of 3 gun nation "style" matches for fun.

I know IPSC shotgun matches do not allow ammo to be carried anywhere but on the belt.
Chestrigs are specifically not allowed. (Rule 5.2.3)

Never heard of any such rule in a 3-gun match.

I can appreciate the training purposes, ricochets although do happen I believe more precautions should be taken in shrouding and safety zone distances to help reduce this.

Your trolling-fu is pretty weak.

Our club level matches allow pretty much everything. The only restriction for pistol or 3 gun matches is that the holster must be strong side. Huge array of equipment gets used by competitors.

I personally use a plate carrier for 3 extra magazines, simply because I don't want to change where my handgun and magazines are on my belt (I shoot IDPA and like to keep the same setup). I run my shell holders on the front of my belt and without rearranging my handgun setup, simply wouldn't have room for my rifle magazines (although I do run one on the back of the belt sideways if required).

I've used every possible configuration to hold gear. Including having everything on a huge Batman Belt.
The Batman Belt is simply too heavy and bulky for my taste.

A handgun, pistol mags, rifle mags, and shotgun ammo all on one belt is really uncomfortable for me.
Also the fact that ammo ends up all the way around the belt, so now I need to reach behind my back to grab it.

I would much rather move some of that stuff to a small chest-rig.
Much less strain on my lower back. And everything is easy to see, and easy to grab.

Blue Force Gear makes some really nice chest-rigs. Very light and comfortable.
Pouches do not have velcro flaps, or anything else to slow you down.

I just don't understand why the extra heavy hot cumbersome non necessary gear is used and then they complain about it. It makes no sense as to why??

I guess you could say the same thing about guys who shoot 7/8 round 1911's at a match when a 10 round 9mm is easier and cheaper to shoot, all personal preference.
