We ever getting 14" 590-A1's again?

Again, the design of the Mossberg requires more than a barrel switch - you must change out the mag tube and the forend. You could have a dozen Mossberg 14 inch barrels and not be able to make a 14 inch shotgun. Buy the factory kit, you get all the parts you need, or switch to the 870 and buy a 14 inch barrel.

.... and that is one of the plusses in favour of the 870.

They could make a 15" barrel that would fit the 5 round mag tube on the 18" barreled 590's we have now , then no need to swap out anything but the barrel , just saying .
And this is what it looks like with a 15" barrel .

Probably someone with a custom made barrel.

Don't think that Surefire forend would work for me, the light takes away 1/2 of the usable forend length.

Oh ..... didn't realize this.

Don't think I'd want to bother with a custom barrel for a 590.

Yeah , it's been around for a while and it is a 15" barrel , he did the tax stamp thing and had the barrel chopped to 15" , I don't recall the reason for him going this route and not just picking up a 14" 590 .
It does give you a ideal of what we "need" .lol

Agreed. Based on the level of interest in this from CGN alone I would suspect it would be a popular item considering the lack of affordable options and poor availability of shorter length barrels/kits.

Still kits out there for sale. I picked up five. But a 15" would be a sweet thing! Two second swap
