Gopher carnage

Gopher meat pies maybe even....
Never had that many from one den before, they would scatter from all over the ground and seemed to pop up from as far as 30 feet from the main den site.
None the less it appeared to have been a great day in the gopher patch and fun had by all involved...well not so much fun for the gophers.
Rob

There was only a couple that came from that den. The others came over to to see what all the ruckus was all about.

I had some yellow caution tape in my truck too. I never thought about it. Should of put some up. If its like that on the other side of the field I will. heh

Thx guys

What happens to the dead gophers after ?
Dog food ? Throw them over a fence ? Toss them in the garbage.
What do most ppl do with gophers corpses ?

The remaining gophers clean them up. And hawks, coyotes, foxes......

After a couple days, you won't find any.

I'm lucky enough to shoot them off my deck . As soon as I start shooting my dogs think the buffet is open,so I have to lock them up till I'm done. The ones they don't get the owls,Hawks and the occasional bald eagle. If the mag pies and crows show up they get it too.

Me and my dad were out two days ago in a large gopher patch, got 500+ the one day! After the first couple hours we went back to the truck to get more ammo, and when we went back into the field there was a SUPER happy fox with three gophers in its mouth trotting off to the trees, likely feeding cubs. Magpies, ravens and crows were already getting started.
