Yeah yeah yeah....i know what you're thinking. But no, I'm not new to this rifle, and this isn't a yay or nay thread.
I was one of the lucky few to pick up one of the No 4 Mk 4's a few years ago from Marstar. I understand the company that built them however, is now no more. (may it rest in peace....). Could not have been happier with the fine piece they produced.
But my question is pretty basic....what are they worth these days? Have there been any go through the EE that anyone has noticed? Just curious.

I didn't have it for long. Mine was unfired when I bought it. I only put around a hundred rounds through it. I didn't have the original teak cheek piece, so I had a leather one made for it. This improved the sight picture. I didn't like the sights. I had the rail for an optic, but never pursued that. It seemed pretty accurate at 100m with around 2 to 3 moa groups. That probably would have improved with an optic. The rifle was heavy. That teak stock makes it that way. Very smooth action. And the parkerized finish was beautiful.

I sold it because I lost interest in it and probably would not have used it a lot. I hope this helps you.

Here's a picture of it. It's the one on the left.

Hahahha! Thanks for the clarification.
I'm getting just over 1Moa with it using just norinco ammo, but that was before I added a cheek rest. The rail was well fitted but a scope is just suuuuper high. I imagine the group will tighten up now that I can get a stable cheek weld.
I agree with the sight picture. I found that the peep was just a tad on the small side, so I replaced them with some Enfield sights.
I love that leather piece!!

The company is still around, just not interested in North American orders. They have enough orders to keep them busy in Oz. The last one sold really fast for $1100, it had a few extras with it also, mags, gun case, scope mounts etc.

The OP's question is about value / purchase price - The one that recently sold "really fast" had both the teak cheekpiece and AIA rail installed, and a 4-12x40 Bushnell Scopechief VI zeroed at 300 yards. Came with a new rigid gun case. However, and much more importantly, the action and the barrel mid-length were bedded by a DCRA shooter who had qualified for Canada's Bisley Team on twelve occasions, actually won the Grand Aggregate in 1984 and made the Queen’s Prize Final on four occasions, so he has more than a passing familiarity with the accurizing techniques that work for the No. 4 platform. As the buyer, his work and his assessment of the rifle's performance was very significant to me and a similar rifle being sold by most anyone else would not have had that value.

It's a supply and demand thing. I'd personally pay $800 + shipping to get one but maybe others are more motivated than me.

Okay, we are defiantly not talking about the same rifle. I'm talking about a rifle that sold with the accessories Marstar had included.

Beautiful rifle, wish I hadn't missed the boat on these. Too bad no Canadian based manufacturers have pursued manufacturing their own modern Enfields.

There was a fella selling 7 or 8 of these rifles in the EE this spring.

Iirc half were x39 the rest x51.

They were reasonably priced, $650-$750 iirc and the add was up for 8 weeks...

I don't know about the "sell really fast at $1100" comments.....

Funny i called the guys down the road from them in Auss, and they said they were done

The info comes from Marstar when the were sourcing a new supply / order back in 2012. But if you have some detail to add Please do..

I'm going to be in Brisbane this fall. If anyone has a phone number or address I would LOVE to stop in and say hello. Maybe I could even find some stocks and mags to bring back with me!
FINALLY found an A2 on the EE that I picked up. Absolute blast. Couldn't be happier!
