My Redhawk 45auto/45 colt arrived and I was able to open it up and have a look last night. Very nice gun. However everywhere I've seen a description or picture of the gun it included the laser checkered hardwood grips. Mine has plain jane smooth grips. I know sometimes models destine for export can have different specifications than US models, so before I kick up a stink I'm just wondering what grips everyone else on my side of the border is getting? Thanks!

Retailer has nothing to do with it. Since only the 45/45acp has a round butt as far as I know, it would come from the factory like that (although after a quick look on their website, their snubbies have smooth grips and are round butt, of course the gun isn't available up here). Instead of the retailer I would e mail ruger. They have answered my questions promptly in the past.

The retailer has everything to do with it. I purchased a gun from them that is not as described. It's even listed on my invoice to contact the them with any issues, as they will handle necessary back and forth between distributors/manufactures etc. They have already responded to me and are on the issue.
