Putting together a little build ( mostly Kidd/Dlask) and was thinking of trying one of these Kidd Trigger Job Kits. Is it worth the cost? Or should I just buy the complete Kidd Pkg. or say something from Brimstone. I like the idea of this as it would use the polymer housing and trying to keep weight & $$ at a reasonable level.
Thanks

The kit is worth the $$$! I had both the kits and complete KIDD trigger assemblies. You will be very happy with the kit! (Get the barrel too if you can)

The kit is pretty sweet, I like my brimstone a little better. Either or, you can't go wrong. I've never shot with the kidd drop in to compare to.

Having done many of all options... IMO just buy the Kidd Single Stage trigger group and be done with it... thank me later...

The kit is awesome, i have well over 5000 rounds since installed, i wish i would have bought one a long time ago. I shoot it beside my daughter's 10/22 with a BX trigger and the Kidd is obviously a superior trigger but i personally like the curved shape of the BX trigger better.....just the curved shape of the trigger nothing else. Lol

what do i have in my guns right now.....
1) Kidd 2 stage
2) Timney
3) Brimstone on a new poly housing
4) stock poly
5) stock metal
6) metal housing with all VQ internals

while i havnt tried the kidd 1 stage id assume its similar to the Timney.
id also assume the Kidd trigger package is similar to the VQ one.

at the end of the day all the aftermarket triggers are a step up from the stock one.
for the price and messing around if i where looking to spend money right now i think id look at a Timney or a Kidd 1 stage.
the kits are nice but then you have to put them together and if your lucky it will drop in 100% - if your not lucky then you are going to work with a stone or some paper. and while thats not a bad thing it can be a hassle and lets face it we do this hobby to shoot not be machinists.

im heading down to calgary next week and i think im gonna pick up a Ruger Trigger BX just so i can compare it to all my others.

I have owned and shot several of each of the aftermarket trigger groups... I would put them in this order for overall quality, feel and function;

1. Kidd 2 stage
2. Kidd single stage
3. VQ-2000
4. Timney

For a hunting rifle, I prefer the Kidd single stage or VQ-2000

I have the Kidd Trigger Job Kit. It is definitely a sweet unit.Very light and fairly crisp. I have had it for a few years now. Very happy with it. There is a wow factor when you test it. You will be smiling. Also I feel it is important to mention that I haven't ever had any reliability issues with it. Always resets and hasn't caused an issue.

I don't know how it compares to the Kidd single stage as I have never tried the single stage. The trigger kit is not adjustable so that kind of sucks. It is a very light pull but to be honest I would prefer a little heavier for offhand shooting. It is a compromise between a good bench trigger and offhand.

So yeah the kit is awesome but I would bet the single stage might be even more awesome. For a factory Ruger I would use the kit. For a all out build use a trigger pack.

Post edit:

I feel I should mention that on occasion I get a double fire from the Kidd kit. I haven't been able to get it to do this intentionally though. It is a bump fire from the riding the trigger just right.

The Kidd trigger drops in super easy. No worries about that.

Will be using for a mostly hunting setup, so have decided to go with the Kidd single stage. I do have the BX in another rifle ( mostly all stock parts) and do like it over the factory. This new project is almost all Kidd so only fitting to use the complete trigger group.
