"Like New" Yugo M48 Mausers?

Tradex listed a few more....I like the looks of this stock, but then I remembered how much I don't like shooting Mausers ...

Interesting. Trades only listed half the guns they had on hand, the rest were being readied to ship overseas to another importer. I guess they must have ended up with a few stragglers.

Wow, that's an aggressive grained stock. Used sling and ammo pouches though.

At least it doesn't have a chipped butt stock lol
The wood really looks like ash or oak to me.... probably elm though, but looks nice and different.
This one too.

I can see this thread is as dead as that ham sandwich, which looks mighty fine. Good batch of M48s from what I've seen but now I have another chapter of 8mm rifles to investigate.

BLO is a good choice. I use paper towels with WD40 to rub off the cosmolene from the exterior. Then I disassemble and use varsol on rags to get the cosmoloene off the metal parts. A parts washer also works great if you have one.

For the wood, once all the surface cosmo is removed, I use a heat gun to boil the worst of the cosmo out of the wood, then I finish in BLO. Some people will wrap in newspaper or paper towel, put in a black garbage bag, and keep it in a hot car in the sun for a couple weeks. That works also. Raw linseed or BLO work equally well on these porous stocks. Just use whatever you prefer.
