Amazon.ca sale on Bushnell AR Optics 3-12x 40mm Riflescope 223

These "knockoff" could also be "factory second", or pre-production samples that weren't met to be used.

Anyone who's ever had anything manufactured in China knows full well that many factories will produce more goods that what you actually ordered... and that if you don't "need" those extras, they'll get sold on some secondary market.

Once you removed the
- RD $
- Royalty $
- Manufacturer/importer/distributor/retailer markup $
- Marketing budget $

The cost of some items can be surprisingly low.

theres fakes on amazon...not saying its the case here but... amazon should let you return it... i actually had an order placed but cancelled after seeing the sellers lack of history

those who recieve one...id check it over well

Doubt it's a fake, in the original link it's sold by Knife Country USA, a legitimate retailer. That said, if it's being sent via UPS, the deal may be minimal once you pay for brokerage, etc. Just because it's on amazon.ca doesn't mean it's coming from a Canadian seller.

Didn't pick one up, but looking at these Bushnell scopes that are sub $200, it says sold by Amazon.ca, which means it's already in a warehouse up here. This is also why you get free shipping with it.

I ordered one of the "sold by Amazon" ones, but delivery date isn't until mid-July, so not necessarily "in stock item", just one that they have re-ordered or plan on re-ordering to replenish stock. I hope they don't delay it on me.

What about you guys that ordered the $112 ones, any news? Hope it works out for you guys without any wrinkles. Give us an update.

Thinking the cheap one was a scam, as it has yet to show up. I have filed a claim with Amazon, and the refund is being purchased. Good thing I didn't actually have a need or a use for the scope at this time or I may be disappointed. The only reason I pushed order was it was too cheap to not purchase. Buyer beware, make sure you deal with someone reputable like amazon if the seller isn't a well known seller, at least you can be covered easily enough.

I've had my Bushnell AR 3-12x40 to the outdoor range once. I wasn't too steady that hot day and had a poor range bag rest situation, so groups weren't that great, but decent enough for the first outing. The triggers on both AR's (factory) were quite gritty as I hadn't polished the sears yet. This post isn't really a post about the scope however, just my "shakedown" with it on an AR.

I started out with it on a 14.5" DA556, it was hitting 8" low at 25 yards. After cranking it up, and moving back to 100 yards, I was getting 3" groups with Norc 55g surplus and 1.5 - 1.75" with my Hornady 55g V-Max reloads using 12X.

I then moved it to a 16" DPMS, had to move back to 25 yards and found it hitting 7" high. So I had to "undo" the cranking I did to get the Norc on target, implying that had I put it on the DPMS first, it would have been close to right on. Anybody else ever have a scope shoot way low at first on their DA556???? I'm wondering about the top rail parallel to barrel???? Anyway, I think groups were similar to the Norc, can't recall exactly.

I did find I was having a bit of exit pupil issue with it on 12X. I guess I don't get my eye directly over the stock enough, have to work on that. I've polished both sears since but need to touch up the DPMS a bit more. I hope to get out next week and give it another whirl, looks nice on the AR though! Now looking at mini/micro red dot to accompany it on the top or side rail of the front scope ring.

I took the 16" DPMS with the Bushnell AR 3-12X40 scope to the 100 yard range last week. After 3 barrel fouling shots and a scope adjustment, I shot 4 rounds of Norc surplus. Three of them were almost touching just above the bull while the fourth was a flier to the right(grrr). I then shot 3 rounds of my "coyote popper" .223 reloads with 55g V-Max bullets. The softer reloads hit a tad lower and a bit left of the norc group:

I then shot 15 rounds of norc surplus in fairly fast succession (yes there was a mag change in there). The group is about 3" but I appear to have a right wing bias (like any good CGN'r, lol). I may be canting the rifle, I'll have to keep an eye on that next time out:
